That's because you're trying to restore a previous version of the phone to a newer version. The ROM must be an updated one. Trust me...I did this just 2 nights ago with trying to upgrade my wife's 6700 ROM and the same thing that's happening to you happened to me whenever I tried to do a complete restore. I suggest you only restore the contacts and calendar. Everything else you're just going to have to bite the bullet and reinstall.

i hate activesync =P
i just got my contacts back .. thats all i needed now i can re-mod my phone to what i want it like =] thanks guy |

curious why do you hate activesync?
I only use it for calender and contacts but it works great for that. also a general question about phone backups. I have found that the only time I have ever needed to restore was after some type of upgrade, and instead of dealing with all the incompatibilities of that it was faster just to reinstall my apps. Now to that end I do keep a log of any changes and a list of all software currently installed, but as far as a backup, just seems like heartache in the making.

Hi guys, I am a fresh man here and so interest in the topic discussed here. Just wondering why you guys didn't give Sprite Backup a try for the restore after the ROM upgrade. As far as I know, Sprite Backup is the only backup utility which can perform a Restore after you upgrade your ROM. And also they have a very detailed instructions from this link;
https://spritesoftware.crmdesk.com/a...d0%26start%3d0 It is worth to have a go with Sprite Happy new years! |

Sprite Backup does the same thing so you're mistaken. (That's the program I used). Why would it be any different if both programs are backing up the same thing (system files, registry, program files, etc.)?
