Data plan or not, having Verizion turn off / blocking data on your account will keep you from incurring any data charges. I have had no problems in almost a year. I also like reeg420's app suggestion.

yeah defiatly you could call them and turn it off but like someone said if you get a pic message you really want to check out is all you have to do is turn on the connection through NoData. I love this app because that was always an issue with me because I dont have a data plan and definatly didnt want programs like HTC Home updating without me knowing.

Verizon lists the Apache as a smartphone/PDA. Whatever it may be you need a data plan for it. If you don't want to pay for the data get the pay as you go plan or the datablock. Those are two free data plans that you can chose from on Verizon.

i have had mine blocked through VZW easy and dont have to worry about it. just call they will take care of it

hmm the nodata says its blocked but then i opened IE and got to google without a problem, do i need to reset after changing settings? thanks
