Trouble with VZW data
I recently got a qwest ppc6700 for about $60 in mint condition and want to use it on vzw as I'm a Vzw agent. I used the helmi 12/17/07 wm6 build to build a custom rom and picked verizon in the drop down menu and also in the ext rom selection. Everything works well on vzw but #777 data. I spent about 1 hour with tech support and we couldn't get the data working. I'm using settings of #777 username:mynum@vzw3g.com and vzw as password. I noticed that the mip settings had a num@sprint and I changed it to mynum@vzw3g.com. Every time I try to dial a connection it says cannot connect for an unknown reason and I know data was working on the phone prior on qwest so its not a defective phone. I had to use the noid ruu as I have bootloader 1.00 on the phone. Also it seems wireless sync is missing from the ext rom. If anyone can help me trouble shoot I'd really appreciate it or if they can build me a rom as I'm a novice at working on a smart phone but great with the software on non OS phones.

Try and flash your 6700 to the Verizon 3.3 rom that might put the proper M.IP settings in. Also create a brand new connection and have it just dial to #777 with just your username/password. Don't check the mip settings. And finally force your phone into 1x mode and see if the data issue is related to EVDO authentication. I hope this helps! |

Went to stock vzw rom and ext rom. I'm now getting "Dialed #777" "No modem at above connection" and a call again to tech support couldn't resolve it.

Either download and install the stock verizon rom. this will install verizon's ext rom.
But be warned. the latest verizon rom has a newer bootloader also. you can search the apache forum for the new rom without the new bootloader. Or you can downlosd this ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....nded%20ROM.rar This will give you a blank ext rom even when you do a hard reset. I suggest the blank ext rom since your cooking all the verizon info into your custom rom. so you dont need the ext rom,=.

Can some one on VZW help me with the M.IP settings I'm nearly 100% sure thats the problem as they are still somewhat set to qwest im sure. Please compare to yours if possible. Seems IOTA programming fixes this problem on sprint but this isn't an option as far as I know on VZW and rom changes and going to oem stock vzw roms doesn't reset these M.IP settings.
