Mike,

First - THANKS for doing this!

I upgraded to newest Sprint distribution to get radio and ExtRom, cleaned up ExtRom, then upgraded to your 2.2.

Initial comments:
- works fine, faster, like Crossbow
- .85 MB more Storage Used with your build of 2.2 (5.6 MB) than Sprint build of 2.0 (4.75 MB) - could that be due to A2DP? If not, something else you've added? Not a huge deal - I'm an old mini-computer programmer and just plain anal about memory usage!

Suggestion - incorporate a hack published earlier and make \Windows\PhoneOff.wav a copy of PhoneOn.wav - this will save .75 MB of Storage!

I'll load apps tonight/tomorrow and report back.

Thanks again.

Ok, this time I'm getting a varried problem,

After doing the spb backup i lost the today screen, but now im randomly seeing the today screen problem where it doesn't load everything and only loads the date (but now if i take off one item and soft reset the rest come back including the 3rd party ones), but if i put all of mine in which fills up the today screen it only comes up with the date. Has any reg tweak been made that would have any cpu limitating effect? Such would explain also why I'm randomly seeing those generic/dos icons in the start menu too now.

In any case looking forward to once this rom's been finalized as it appears to be very nice so far in testing

pixelwix, the today screen problem seems to be something of a recurring annoying bug.

If your today screen ever gives an issue to where it only shows the date, try removing everything from it besides the default MS ones (eg date, calander, messaging, and so on). I've seen this now after the first fresh install and tried another hard reset to reset everything and it appeared again.

This is with a full today screen also (I have 4 additional options checked normally on this aku besides the defaults). It almost looks like there is something cutting off cpu to the today screen loading causing it to completely fail to load if there's too many items in it.

I don't know if this will solve your backlight issue but give it a shot because it worked for me.

To followup further, I just installed in spb pocket plus and it appears as though if you only load in one or so extra today screen plugins it does show them properly. It's definitely looking as though something is preventing loading of the today screen if you put even one too many items into it. (it's probably bound to be an issue with how windows in general tries to load everything at once).

Yeah, that'd be one thing I had noticed with contacts in wm5 vs how it is done in ppc 2002 edition. In the older ppc i have (not a phone one) I can select all contacts but on wm5 on the 6700 can't.

Also yeah the today issue isn't a huge deal but it's definitely something that is quite an annoyance.

Also currently got the following setup on my 6700:

Greensoftware GSplayer
Skype for windows mobile 5
Microsoft Voice Command 1.6
Spb Backup
Total Commander
WebIS Flexmail 2006
Opera 8.60 for mobile
Resco Explorer (with reg editing plugins, etc)
Activesync USB sync tweak/fix .cab
SPB Pocket Plus

Beyond that start menu and today screen problem everything else appears to be functioning as intended overall.
