yea mine has alittle play, not much but u can tell its not as tight as I would like it to be. sometimes when in my case I found that it sometimes slides open slightly, but its no biggie.

yeah when I bought mine it was very tight. But after a while it has started to slide. Especially when in the original case. Kinda annoying.

it should have a LITTLE play, as in a couple of milimeters of play, anything else more than 2 milimeters and i believe something is starting to go wrong, dont mean to scare yo or nothing. I have opened one and i kinda know how the thing works

should i exchange it, i really hate going to the Verizon store. I had 1st gotten a palm700p , i liked the simplicity of it , since i had already owned palm600 tmobile, went back to verizon to exchange for xv6700 after reading from others how great the phone is. The verizon reps were acting as if i wasn't entitled to an exchange(15 days from purchase) it was very rude 0ntheir part, i got the exchange anyway, a few days later i brung it back cause i could hardly hear the other person after a grueling interrogation i recieved 2nd replacement within the 15 days. I would like to xchange if possible but if it is going to repeat again what should i do?

not sure what to tell ya about that because I'm with sprint. but I suggest you maybe try a different verzion store, or make sure you go to that store when a different rep is working. These are just guesses, not sure if ya will have any trouble. good luck.
