so i'm browsing through UTStarcom's website and under the downloads section for sprint there is an AKU 2.X Fix Application download and an AKU 2.0 Fix Application download... does anyone know what these are?
Maybe Wideawake or Mala can chime in on this?

Yeah, I'm curious about the 2.0 vs 2.X also. The instructions from the Starcom site refer to the 2.0 (which is also the one posted on this forum).

I didn't have this issue with the old ROM, but after updating, each time I connect to Vision, it brings up the 'Network Log On' screen asking for a username & password to connect to Vision. Obviously Sprint doesn't need those so I just click 'OK' and it connects fine. I can't seem to find any threads where others have had this issue and any possible fix.

any ideas?

Your issue is that you need to shut off the notifications on connections. go to settings/sounds and notifications and shut off notification of connection disconnected and connected. It should be OK after that.

Sprint Update

Well did the update last night, Update went fine and yes back up your data as this will wipe the device. Now with that said I use Sprite backup software and restored only data to the device. I would not recommend a full restore as files that were done in the update could get over written. So this will mean that software will have to be reloaded. But in the end all went off with no problems. Best of luck to others.

Has anyone extracted a CAB for...

Quote:
Push-mail, voice call fix. The voice call is rejected when CE application attempted outgoing data packets. However, a 2nd voice call attempt would go through.
AS has never worked for me (Use Exchange) so I have no way of installing this update without using another XP box. For me, this fix is the most valuable. Has any got the CAB just for this fix? I always have to hit the call button twice to make a call.

I personally think the only darn thing the updated was the ext rom and it contains all the fixes in .cabs. So you could use my custom extended rom tutorial and load all the .cabs and save them in the extended to install on a hard reset (u can run the autorun.exe from tc and it will install ur extended without having to do a hard reset. I will upload them and give u the link. u can test it and let us all know

decided just to upload it here so if it does work everyone has access to it. Try it out, Let us know cause this could save a lot of ppl the pain of a hard reset. :P The tutorial for the custom extended is [url=http://www.ppcgeeks.com/how-to-customize-your-extended-rom-t1395.html]here[/b].
