Storage memory critically low! Freezes

On start up I make it to the Today Screen and get a lockup on notification:

Storage memory is critically low. If you do not increase storage memory, you may not be able to start some programs. Use File Explorer to delete files you no longer need, or move some files to a storage card.

I can't get past this notification.

I'm assuming you tried a soft reset and that's what you mean by startup. I hope you are backed up. Think of it as a learning experience Next time you won't put so much stuff on it

Now is a great time to try a custom ROM. You will be amazed at how much storage memory you save!

Yup, been there done that. There is just no way around it. It happened to me while playing around with activesync, and accidentally synced to my whole PC music folder.

Using the rom kitchens (I hadn't done it with wm5 since I really just didn't read the directions and thought it was much more difficult than it was) I currently run wm6 with 39MB free, since I only have 2 programs installed (one on the storage card, though it uses 1m of internal Everything else I use is on the image.

What kind of nonsense advice is this... of course there is a way around it. Spb Pocket Plus has the ability to load your phone into safe mode which basically turns off all services, today plugins, etc. thus giving you enough memory to navigate your way to internet explorer and delete files. Fixed a mundo... ayyyyyy

I found the Pocket Plus safe mode after I had already done a hard reset. My problem was too many contact photos that were not the correct size. I've only had my phone a week but I'm dying to make tweaks. Thanks for the help.

yeah the programs are useful, and would solve the problem. However, that would involve him already having them installed, which Im sure he doesnt

Spb Pocket Plus's safe mode feature has saved my phone more times than I care to count. As a constant tweaker, I have it set to load up and prompt me at every reboot as to whether I want to load in safe mode or not. Get it! Believe me, there will come another time when your phone is exactly the way you want it and you, unknowingly, will let your storage memory get too low i.e., surfing the internet, and game over. There will come a time when you will load a program and have a today plug-in totally fry your unit... I dont know of any other programs that have that safe mode feature but for that alone, spb is worth it.
