Re: Apache WM6 Clean, No Junk Version
Robmayer,
I have come upong a big problem for me... the voicedialer is gone! Any help? I LOVED this feature of my 6700 prior to using your program. Also, it seems to take forever to log on to the internet service. Any thoughts? Quote:
Well, it's not just the failure to update the OS... they also block GPS on the 6800, thereby limiting the functionability of many of the apps you can get for either phone. If Sprint can bill you for it, they will. I've been with them for about 4 years & am seriously considering dropping them for a carrier that isn't so cheap. |

Re: Apache WM6 Clean, No Junk Version
If you look/search through this thread, you'll find the registry entry that you need to delete in order to get the weather to update.
I'm sorry for not finding it for you, but I'm short on time and looking for something else. |

Re: Apache WM6 Clean, No Junk Version
ATTN: To everyone that has not used the WM6.1 kitchen, I urge you to give it a try. The kitchen crew did a wonderful job and it's just simply awesome, especially WM6.1, I thought it was a big improvement. Anyway, what I may be doing is releasing some OEMs/Modules of all the stuff I normally add into my ROMs. ggurru is right though, pre-made ROMs are becoming "obsolete" because the potential of the kitchen has so much more to offer.
However, for the very few that don't have time to mess around with the kitchen or maybe have had problems in the past, ect. I may be releasing a very simple WM6.1 ROM only if one day you all will give the kitchen a try. The kitchen is simple, follow the steps below and I promise that you all will have a great ROM. 1.) Download BuildOS www.PPCKitchen.org 2.) Install BuildOS 3.) Run Updater 4.) Install the WM6.1 kitchen and PPCGeeks_OEM at the very least. 5.) Launch BuildOS 6.) Login (username and psswrd of your choice) 7.) Select the helmi wm6.1 default selections.txt 8.) Select your Carrier, bootloader, RUU, bootscreen, programs, ect. 9.) Press the green play button to start the build process (Upper left) 10) You will know when you are almost done because the RUU will pop up in your face, and unless you are using a Vista PC not set up properly for Syncing, you know what to do from here... Thanks to everyone that put so much hard work and effort into this, you guys did a wonderful job! Last edited by robmayer; 03-13-2008 at 10:02 AM. |

Re: Apache WM6 Clean, No Junk Version
There is presently a problem w/ kitchen activation for some international users. I should have a resolution yet still this morning.
Edit: Fixed. I'll have the patch files up shortly. Last edited by gguruusa; 03-13-2008 at 11:24 AM. |

Re: Apache WM6 Clean, No Junk Version
Rob, as you know (i think!) i have your rom on my 6700, but i've been asking what the difference is with the new 6.1, I'm not asking anymore. if you recommend it so highly i have no further questions and am in the process of downloading it right now. I had the 6.0 then went to yours after some problems with it and i have total confidence in your opinion. If you say go for it, I'm going!

Re: Apache WM6 Clean, NJV I love it!
This build is so great. I contemplated downloading a 6.1 version and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. There are a few things about the rom version 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0) that made me love my phone even more.
1 Sprint finally gave me a better deal on having internet on my PPC 6700 so I use my phone, connected to my laptop via usb, to connect to the net and i love it. 2. I love the PIM backup, I have been hoping for this since I purchased my 6700 the day of it's debut. 3. Microsoft office no longer stops working and errors just because. 4. and when re-starting, my phone, it is no longer at risk of not starting up completely and I have to do a hard reset 5. The Audio BT is great, I'm not a fan of wires so using my ear piece is wonderful...AND I'M SPENT! |
