ok, heres the biggest problem I have had since switching to WM6.
when I connect via my USB cable, windows fails to recognize the device at least 50% of the time, and activesync won't connect even when I dont get a USB device error quite frequently.
sometimes soft reset fixes it, sometimes I have to reboot my computer. A minor annoynance, but frustrating.

I do have the latest activesync.

You should revert back to the serial method of USB connection. To do that go to Start->Settings->Connection tab->USB to PC and uncheck the "Enable advanced network functionality" box. You may need to soft reset to effect the change.

I love you guys.
I've been having this issue too, but just thought it was part of the "process".
I did this and immediately saw an increase in my connection/failure rate.
For the record, I didn't need to reset. XP noticed it and connected to the new profile immediately.

UPDATE:
Now, when I connect, I get this little icon in the system tray. Tapping on "Hide Status" only gets rid of the status icon in the top bar. Any way to get rid of this thing? Not really a huge deal, since it's only there when cradled, but I'd like it gone (so the scroll bars will go away also).

didn't change anything... still get unknown USB device most of the time when I connect.

I was connected successfully, unplugged the cable and plugged it back in without changing anything and it did it to me.

Hi All

Quick question, I am trying to upgrade to this ROM, when I plug in, it activesyncs fine, I run the program, sees my info and starts the upgrade, puts the phone in bootloader mode and it just hangs, gives me an error 201

any thoughts?

Are you using a USB hub? You should definitely elminate as many other variables as possible (i.e. try cable direct to USB port, try a different port, try a different cable, don't use cradle, reboot PC, soft reset PPC, try a different PC)

I don't know if this is a WM6 problem, but I'm having trouble with my e-mail. I can receive e-mails with no problems, but I can't send them. I checked with Verizon regarding the SMTP settings. I have the SMTP server as "smtp.vzwmail.net". I have the "Outgoing server requires authentication" box checked. The user name is my 10-digit phone number@vzwmail.net, and my password is the same password I use to log onto vtext.com, and verizonwireless.com (I checked the password on both sites, its correct).

Is anyone else experiencing this? If its not a WM6 problem, where can I get this solved? Does anyone have a link to a solution?
