Agreed, it works, but I am definitely attached to the Palm Threader (it is very nice!) .

I'm also trying this Threader (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319899) ShogunMark's WM6 Threader (Which seems to pretty much be the Palm Threader for WM6, but I think it's only for AT&T?
It acts the same as the Palm Threader I used to use.

EDIT: Okay, I noticed the ShogunMark WM6 Threader does work, however, it wouldn't send/receive files. I checked the configuration, and it is set for Cingular.

Does anyone know what the MMS Gateway settings are for Verizon? Maybe someone with WM5, and a working threader can check....

The shogunmark threader also does not work for me.

I think this may be a carrier-specific problem. Sounds like none of the Verizon users are able to get any of the Palm threaded apps to work. I could get the trianglepowers version to work okay, but, no offense, it really is nothing close to the Palm app. The Palm threader's integration with the contact database is what really makes it indispensable to me.

I'll gladly donate money to anyone who can get the real Palm threader to work with Verizon on WM6...

right now i am using the trianglepowers threader but its nothing close to what most of us are used to

I'm using PocketCM's threaded feature. And i think I like it better than the Palm app! The notifications are the same & it allows you to change the read/unread state so that they won't just sit in the standard SMS app unread. ... The color coding is nice. And, of course, the finger scrolling is great too.

If only there was a way to map the text MSG button on the HTC home app to open PocketCM, that would just seal it for me! But, right now, I'm cool without the Palm App.

Try it!

Just make sure that if you use the PocketCM program you dont have the Palm app installed. I think that is the reason that it only tells you about sent messages. Because I think the palm app stores them differently.

I have yet to try and install the program without the palm app (because I love it too much to see it go ) but this is going to keep me at 3.5

definitely not a carrier specific problem as its happening on sprint too.

I can almost guarantee this is a mismatch of a file type within the install. I helped beta test the original versions of the palm SMS threader (before it had to be taken off here and XDA). This problem (almost exact same problem) popped up before, because the Palm SMS files were taken off a newer AKU and because of the way it interacts with the original mail program, we needed to include the updated versions of several system files. Now from what Helmi has said, the version of WM6 that we are using is built off a NEWER version of wm6, hence why it probably works on the 6800 and other WM6 PDAs. My theory is that we will probably have to use a downgraded version of the mail program (and associated necessary files) OR wait til the Treo 750 gets an update to this newer version of WM6 (which may never happen). If im correct, then the palm SMS program wont work on whatever device this rom was pulled off of.

this makes the most sense of any speculation that we are throwing around. If this is true, then once a kitchen comes down the pipes we should be able to "downgrade" the outlook mail files (and probrably lose the stupid html email garbage) but none-the-less have a working program.

I dunno, i suppose ill just sit tight on AKU 3.5 until there is some sort of solution.
