ok guys, im trying to install it but its not really working out for me..i do everything it says, i have the xv6700 by the way. and do the power reset or w/e and then press install.. but then theres this screen that pops up saying "checking the information on your device..please wait/
please dont disconnect your device from your PC until the update is completed" and im not sure if its suppose to take a long time or not but its been up for like an hour and still nothing. someone wanna give me step by step what to do from beginning to see i i did anything wrong? im sure someone already did in this thread but i dont wanna look thru 160+ pages thanks

It should not sit on that screen for very long. Maybe a minute. Restart your phone and the RUU and try again. You might try flashing while your phone is fully booted instead of in bootloader mode.

i trieed all of that..nothing. if i do it while booted up it'll just say error and tell me to exit. was i suppose to do something on my phone beforehand?

What bootloader is on your phone? If it's 1.04/2.04/2.05, try using the RUU for those bootloader versions.

Isn't the higher the number, the less available space that you can have, to cook OEM's into your ROM?

There is a correlation, yes.

v1.00 has the most available rom space
v1.02, v1.04, v2.02 are slightly less
v2.04, v2.05 have the least.

I don't know exactly what the rom size difference is...one day when I'm not to lazy to track down an original rom of the 1.02/1.04/2.02 and 2.04/2.05 varieties I'll figure it out and update the kitchen.

I have the sprint ppc 6700 i saw a guy that had wm6.1 with touch functions so he didn't have to use the stylus and he also had picturemail functions he said he got it all here. i ran buildOS and tried to build but kept getting error msgs can anyone help me walk through this stuff to get these upgrades this is my first ppc so I am def a noob please help a rookie
