Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

What makes you say it's a brick? What were you doing to it?

I hold both soft keys, and hit reset. Choose Y to restore to factory default. After it says Clear ok, press space to reboot, I press space. It then immediately returns me to the screen that says SERIAL at the top and v2.02 at the bottom.

Too bad. That would have been the first brick I knew of. You're still OK but didn't read enough...

I already tried this but it doesn't work for me. I think my usb connector may have issues. I've tried 8 different usb ports, 3 different cables. Nothing seems to work. After calling sprint, I can get a mogul for $30 or try to find a sprint repair store that has a 6700 (most likely refurb said the guy) and get that for $30. Should I upgrade to the mogul? It already has wm6 and a GPS, but I keep hearing about how the 6700 is feature packed beyond all else.

any thoughts?

XP or Vista?
Did you try the mtty method, too?

I think that everyone would like the Mogul (XV6800) but, because they are so similar, no one wants to spend $300 to upgrade (at VZW). I'd definitely do it for $30 unless you like the challenge to mod and be a geek about the phone. You can probably get the 30 back on parts sale. LOL.

Calm down. The reason why it's not working is because this ROM wasen't made for Bootloader V2.02 And this is Helmi's first ROM. I wish this thread would be locked! Use his WM6 kitchen, or better yet use his WM61 kitchen. Don't be so quick to think it's a brick, it's hard to brick these things. Use a kitchen and it will work fine. I made a video here on how to properly flash. In the desciption there are links to the kitchens. http://youtube.com/watch?v=CLyFeQCKw-A

When I plug the usb cable in (tried 3 different cables on different systems, xp home, xp pro, 2k3, 2k8, vista home, and vista ultimate) and it never says USB when plugging in the usb cable. I did a continuity test on the cable I was using to assure it was in good working order and it just wont go to USB Bootloader mode. =(

IT'S IN BOOTLOADER MODE BY WHAT YOU SAID "SCREEN SAYS SERIAL V.2.0" Make sure you have a good cable.
