This is a common problem. Use SIPChange to change SIPs.

Sarge,
For WM6, definitely use the kitchen. This thread supports an older rom helmi_c issued for initial testing. All the lessons learned were incorporated into the kitchen. You could check out this thread for a noob's-eye-view:http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=13516

How would someone define "kitchen" as it's used in this application.
This is way too scary for me.......all for a nice lookin GUI.......the rest is just "fluff"........... |

The kitchen is where you "cook" your ROM the way you like it. Kind of like a burger king for your phone. Your way right away(almost right away). Once you do some reading go and download the kitchen. Open it up and it is alomost self explanatory. Someone answered your question in the other thread as well. Please try not to post the same, or virtually the same, question in multiple threads. It takes a bit of research on your part. I was afraid as well when I first found this site but the people here are very informative and willing to answer your questions. Just read and then read some more. Then search. If you still have a question after that, ask away and you shall find help.

go here to download the kitchen and the OEM package: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=11074 You can also find this by going to: Forum->HTC Apache->Upgrades (sub-Forum) and it is the first one on the list. Now go to this site for instructions on how to install using a kitchen: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=14818 you can find this by following the same path as on top. Peace be with you. |

Don't be distracted by all the folks talking about iphone themes and cubes (i.e. the fluff). The real value of the kitchen is being able to pack your own phone with exactly what you want - and you'll find that with helmi's help you can pack this phone much more efficiently than the Microsoft/HTC/Verizon troika managed to do. [Edit: If you want to start slow, try Rob Mayer's clean, no-junk, pre-cooked rom in this same forum. It's easy to load for most people and will get you going with WM6. (It's "pre-cooked" because Rob first cooked it in helmi's kitchen, then tweaked it and packaged it up for you.)] Last edited by TMB_XV6700; 12-21-2007 at 12:43 AM. |

BTW, you can do just about all the tweaks you'd ever want from a pretty GUI by using OEMizer by Tiermann (donationware, found in the kitchen)....plus, you can use it to bake in your personal settings, which no pre-made ROM will ever do. |

Thanks fellas
It's great to see you senior members kneedeep in all this step up and patiently deal with an apprehensive noob. I played with the kitchen on the pc last night some.....there's a lot of stuff there! 3/4 of it I have no idea what it is, so I'll probably be applying the KISS rule on my ug.
