Re: The Apache Lives on.... WM6.5 pics

New builds up install your carrier's arcsoft as its not included. These don't have office in them and you can install with included cab. These may be used with any cdma carrier any bootloader. If you can't use a NoID bootloader you may need to use supercid if not on VZW. If on another carrier than vzw you may need to install your carrier specfic ext rom files or dcd cab if changing the settings/connections username and password (ie MDN@vzw3g.com pass vzw For vzw but for your specifc carrier)

I like 21189 as it seems to be faster on apache than 21193 and both are a huge improvement over 21169.

Apache 21189

Apache 21193

On 21189 & 21193 I have included a working Microsoft Voice Command and included a somewhat working htc task mgr from home screen. On task mgr it now appears on home screen but if you try to tap it in the first 5 min or so after boot up or soft reset it freezes the phone requiring a soft reset but if you use it after being booted 5 min or longer it works properly. I'm stumped on this.

Thanks Drellisdee .... downoading now. Do you know of a tut on setting up the ppcgeeks kitchen to work with 6.5 as it appears that an updated kitchen is not in the cards .... I've fooled around with it a little bit and have yet to get a bootable build. Anyway ... I really appreciate your work!

Thanks Drellisdree. The first release was kind of slow on my apache, but these last two work really well. A future request would be to have the SDHC Driver installed by default. Thanks again. You ROCK!

Edit..

I've tried two SDHC drivers from team 777 and still could not read my SDHC Card. Do you have a recommended version?

Thanks again.

First, Thanks again, Drellisdee for your effort, this is my fast report on 21189
i just flashed to 21189, work well on my sprint supercid, much faster than the earlier one, however i find some bugs on this 21189:
1. Audiogateway don't show anything, a2dp seen works on my hbh ds980
2. wireless manager for wifi don't work, but we can turn it on via wifi setting
I downloaded 21193 and will try to feel which the better on it
Again thank you so much for making this day beautifull!

Both on 21189 and 21193, garmin xt cannot start, wifi switch on wireless manager not functioning ( but can turn it on wifi setting),
on 21193, i cannot see pentagon on menu, so it not possible to toggle menu by joystick

Thanks for the feedback as my Apache has been retired long ago so I can't fully test everything. I think I can fix the wireless mgr switch next build and am not sure about the garmin xt as I have never used it on any device of mine are you getting an error or will it simply not start?. The Pentagon on start menu wasn't there in the 96 dpi resources but I think it can be fixed by editing the start_menu grid and titanium 96 dpi resources or getting better resources in the next build if you ask in the 6.5 developing thread and find an answer for the 21189 and 21193 qvga pentagon please post solution here.

i installed the garmin mobile xt, but when i click on the icon, it just load forever, this is not happen on build 21169.
Thanks for your respon, drellisdee! glad to hear you can fix the pentagon and the wireless prob,
this two releases actually much faster then before!

ditto on the Garmin Mobile XT load problems, this is why I'm downgrading today back to 6.1. I've played around with your 2nd build for a while and love it, but my Garmin GPS is dear to me and about 40% of my use of the phone. Also, the bluetooth stack is giving me me issues pairing with the XT reciever, since it won't accept the 1234 passkey when connecting. Have you gotten a chance to play with the newest WM6.5 dogfood builds? My dad (a MSFT contractor in Redmond) has played with it in the wild and seems like they've done more with the CGI since the last build. Keep up the amazing work, once WM6.5 goes live in April/June and you manage to cook a full working build, get your Paypal fired up b/c I'm buying!

here is a WM6.5 21198 Apache ROM with bootloader 1.02 that I made for verizon but should work for others as long as you run your carrier cab. it works on mine but use at your own risk. if you nee a different bootloader ask and I will see what I can do.

Re: Updated 3/23 The Apache Lives on.... WM6.5 pics

I'll do an all bootloader/carrier one soon. I'm actually posting this from a 21198 Touch Pro and am very pleased with it actually enough so stick with WM6.5 for everyday use. Prior to 21198 I didnt consider it good enough for daily use. I'm also very glad to see someone else contributing to apache 6.5 as I never use mine for anything more than just a web pad and cant fully test a rom.

Apache Build 21198 Done Will Upload Tonight.

Apache 21198 all Bootloaders/Carriers

Office left out due to rom size. Again use NoID Ruu or supercid and install your carrier's arcsoft. Same as last build if you use taskmgr from home screen in a few minutes after boot up it will freeze but after a few minutes its fine to use and works properly.

Office cab is here :http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ice#post790329

Hi Drellisdee.

I must say... Your Kung Fu is most impressive! The latest ROM is very stable and quick. I'm really enjoying the work you've put into keeping my Apache relevant. Your work is much appreciated. I just have one question. Is there any way to make S2P (Slide to Play) or another media player launch from the today screen plugin Music option, and set Slide 2 View or Kinoma Play my default picture viewer?

Thanks again!

Re: Updated 3/23 The Apache Lives on.... WM6.5 pics

Fast report for Drellisdee:
1. wireless manager for wifi fixed
2. garmin mobile xt run ok! Thanks!
3. More faster than before

Problems:
1. If i install apps on memory card, every soft reset will turn the apps icons on menu turn to default icon ( the square white one), I can turn it back with open the icon files with file manager/total commander on c/windows/start menu/ program, i click properties then close it, waalaa!! the icons is back!
2. Ramdomly slowdown on system, i'm not sure of this, maybe its only on my apache!

and a request if i may? how about a clean rom of this..
Thanks for your effort ..great job!

Has anyone used Windows 7 Beta to do this successfully yet? I keep getting a connection error.

Got it to connect, but it says: Error 150: This ROM Upgrade Utility is not designed for your device. Please get the proper ROM Upgrade Utility and try again.

Using the NoID Utility
Alltel Apache 1.00 bootloader

I am using windows 7 beta and had no problems at all. you can try this: right click on ROMUpdateUtility.exe go to compatibility tab check (run this program in compatibility mode for) then select vista. hit apply then ok then run ROMUpdateUtility again and it should work

You need to use a NoID bootloader or supercid. Anyways I published a public kitchen http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=63114 so you can build your own.

2 questions is the timebomb removed? and the only glitch so far i have ran into was when it turns gets restarted and i wait for the lock screen to appear i have to wait 2 mins or so to show the lock screen, unless i have no password then it starts up normally, and if there is a fix for the icon thing its not a deal breaker but is a lil annoying

There is supposedly no timebomb in 21198. And I remember reading that if you use the sd card speed up tweak it can cause the app icon issue which I didn't include so I have no idea whats causing it unless you use the sd card tweak.

1) it would require editing the titanium cpr I believe but am not sure exactly how to do it.

2) Icon thing on sd card I have no idea atm.

Windows Live doesn't seem to work on the 21193 build. I have tried every build I have, and they are all a no go. The first build ran it ok.

Also, you can't add a * @ hotmail . com email account with 6.5 so far. It just routes you to PIE.

Anyone find a build of Windows Live that will sync properly?
Is there any solutions that anyone has found for the hotmail issue?
