Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
Where was this build ripped from?
|
Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
Ok, well I am not getting those errors anymore, but now I am unable to start a project. There is no 20931 selections file and I am unable to start one from scratch. It doesn't do anything. It just says selected. Then if I click cancel, the OEM and SYS folders seem to be missing (as reported by buildOS)

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
it was because I didnt have the device selected. so that worked. now for the next question. should I be seeing multiple entries for a single selection?

So I made the folder "DeviceBases" and put it in "Projects/Groups" and manually downloaded the file here: http://ppckitchen.org/Downloads/Proj...s/DeviceBases/ To put in there "Apache_WM6.1.txt".. Then it said it cannot load because "Apache_Core.rar" is not the newer version. It did not show up on updater untill this mourning , then did not let me upload it, saying what it says for that(something about cannot mabey because in use by another program). So I manually downloaded it here: http://ppckitchen.org/Downloads/ and replaced it "\Program Files\PPCkitchen.org\BuildOS\Kitchens", to finally get kitchen to work. EDIT: Rom takes up more space than last one. Have to check off less OEMs, checking it out now... |

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
i did try with default. AND even tried default with NO selections.
it was slow with no selections, dog slow with selections. out of curiosity, try adding pocket sudoku to your build, then open it and set the level to "very hard" then click "new" to generate a new very hard puzzle. under my old build, it would finish this task in about 5 - 15 seconds. since this new kitchen, no combination of build options is capable of finishing that task at all. you will get a "generating" message forever. |

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
What is a typical rom size to allow enough room to run programs?

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
If the rom size is fixed, what is the size that I should be shooting for so that I use it all?
|
Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
just include everything you think you will use. dont put in stuff that you know you wont use. if you included too much, you will get a build error.
|
Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
i wish i could get mine to work. i keep getting the dumb sever cant connect error, even after i updated my files.

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
or even the last version of this kitchen with 20755? that one worked great! i was also wondering if it is possible that once we get a solid build made, is it possible to save it off into a standalone loader so that if future issues with a kitchen occur, we can fall back to our last good standalone?

20755 is already in the kitchen/updater. my documents/buildos ruu has the last successful build in it, complete with loader. |

I was running build 20755 before and everything was working extremely well. I wanted to take this one for a spin and found that I was having some trouble, even with minimal selections, such as a blank boot screen. There was still the *plinking* sounds asking me to set up my windows mobile device but no image for calibration or time and date set-up.
Still able to flash back to 20755 though. Here is my selections for the 20931 build which failed. |
Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
I am not sure why you were suggesting you had to have a selections file when many have stated that even with no selections (fresh start), this problem still exists. I would think that if anything, the fact that SPB Pocket Plus doing a safe boot should give a lot of insight.

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
SPB did nothing until the safemode boot occurred. So it does have everything to do with safemode clearing the problem. The question is, what is the real problem?
I am curious to know what gguruusa's "fix" is. |
Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
Well Done Gguruusa!!!!!!!!
It works perfectly! Well, almost. I selected the DUN and modem and it asked me if I wanted to overwrite some files. Everything seems to have built properly. I am a happy camper. Thanks for all of your hard work |

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
This is great!
For those like me who had trouble flashing a rom in Vista after cooking it (because of connection error and device not "seen"), this kitchen makes it much easier. Before, I had to run "XP" in a virtual machine to flash,.. but now all i have to do is goto the "BuildOS RUU" folder in my Documents folder and I was surprised to see the latest rom cooked there waiting for me to click and flash it with the included files. I dont know why Vista is picky like that but as long as it works I don't have to run my Virtual XP. I also notice it will not work if clicked in cascaded view, I have to open the folder to make "ROMUpgradeUt.exe" find my device. Automatically having latest rom in that folder is great so guys like me dont have to wander poking around looking for the last "nk.nbf" cooked. lol :) |
Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
i just flashed the 931 build today and everything seems to work except when you play music in windows media or TCMP it will just shut off after 4 minutes if you dont hit screen or keys. checked my power settings and still this happens. Can anyone else confirm this??

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen
Does anyone know how to change the regional settings as part of the build? If not would be a good feature request for those who do not us US as our default.

As soon as a few people verify it doesn't break anything, we will make it a permanent fixture in 20931. |

On Battery Power - 5 minutes On External Power - 30 Minutes. TCPMP and Windows Media shut down after 4 minutes - it appears that 6.1, 20931 does not recognize that music is playing and shuts everything down at about the 4 minute mark.. |
