Where is the selection.txt file for 20755?

Same place the Apache_Core.rar file is. Use updater.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20755 kitchen

I used the updater and did not get the selections file. I also check the manual download area and its not there.

That doesn't sound good! let me check...did you select "Apache 20755 files"?

canuckgeek 10-15-2008 11:11 AM

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20755 kitchen

Maybe the problem is related to the option under the Modular Kitchen section. I see two options for 20748 build. Under the first one there is a 20748 Files option under the second on e there is a 20755 file option.

If I select the first 20748 option the update fails. with a files not found.
If I select the second 20748 (the one that contains the 20755 file option) it completes and I now have a 20755 selection file in Build OS.

gguruusa 10-15-2008 11:17 AM

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20755 kitchen

Duplicate name fixed (was a typo). Working on the 20748 fails to download - should be about 20 minutes.

Cool, thanks.

Dare I ask what has changed from 20748 to 20755?

I stopped by http://ppckitchen.org but couldn't find any info.

P.S. Thanks for all of the hard work!

Only Microsoft knows. It's not that different, if you ask me. The prior version of BuildOS had some issues, however, so you should update and rebuild.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20755 kitchen

Is there any particular reason why the Apache_WM6.1_20755 Selections.txt file links to the Apache_WM6.1_20748_96DPI_0409.txt file, which is the exact same thing that the Apache_WM6.1_20748 Selections.txt file links to?
EDIT*** Apparently this problem has been fixed. I just tried using the updater and it seems to have updated this file.

And does anyone know why when you update using the updater, the SYS_20755_Common.rar file doesnt download, which is required according to the Apache_WM6.1_20755_96DPI_0409.txt file?

Also, when I first tried to use BuildOS with this the 20755 build (before making any changes to the selections file), it gave me an error saying that the Apache_Core.rar was unknown, then I got an unhandled exceptions error, which I assume based on other responses that this is due to IE8, even though the first post says that the IE8 error has been fixed... I have looked at alot of the txt files and best I can tell, the only difference I can see between the old selection files and the 20755 files is the the K in Kitchens in the line KitchenDir=Kitchens\Apache_Core.rar is uppercase instead of lowercase like all the other kitchens\* lines...
EDIT**** I just changed the K to a lowercase and somehow it solved this problem. Very odd.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20755 kitchen

I'm getting an error trying to open the apache 20755 selections:

Module kitchens\sys_20748_apache.rar was not found

followed by a lengthier:

Internal Error - Option.xml GUID not found (AutoUpdate - 8be73c02-3437-4c06-88c9-0a2e25bfaf2c)

And then a couple more like that, then it just craps out...

Yes, I just fixed the first problem (typo). Don't know why common isn't downloading..but I can guess that it's due to how the tree view was hacked in to updater. Download it manually for now.

Also fixed correclty now. Yes, changing the k would make it load - I suspect later issues during compilation. At any rate, buildos has been fixed, uploaded, and pushed.

I keep getting can't copy something or other. on my 3rd try now, uninstalled the kitchen, delete the folder to make sure. re-installed, ran updater, and after what seemed like forever, the following error: can't copy file Apache Carriers

Is maybe the serve just gettin' slapped around or something and can't keep up?

Any problems with services.exe in this or do we need to patch with the old one? Any other feedback on changes or improvements?

One concern... I only see one version of MSVC listed and it's not the one I usually use. It's from the Diamond- when I've tried this in the past, it has almost worked, but not quite right. Any way to get our old one back?

It may work fine on this Build..
Looks like this build is smaller so should be able to squeeze more than last build which was too big.

I'm getting the same problem.

1. I unistalled everything and deleted the left over folders.
2. I reinstalled the latest Build OS form PPCKitchen.org.
3. I performed the updates (which is always come up---is this a loop or multiple releases?)

The last build, I did not have this issue.

One last thing, does this build include the services fix? The last build, my services is running at 68-99% CPU. I saw the fix posted in the last build thread, but I do not know where to get an older version of services.exe.

Thank you for your work and patience with a noob like me.

I made a slew of releases yesterday, not so many today (it's early though). Updater should stop notifying you of updates.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20755 kitchen

So ran updater this am.
Flashed a new rom.
No issues with Services.exe
Seams nice and fast.
Still have to do a reg hack to get my S9 kinda working on Bluetooth

Also s2u2 gets the following error when i try to save changes to its settings:
The file 's2u2' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

It seams to be related to trying to change the Wallpaper options from option 2 to option 1

edufur 10-16-2008 01:59 PM

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20755 kitchen

the s2u2 problem existed in previous build as well. I am seeing problems in this build with screen alignment. it seems hit and miss. it is especially bad in landscape mode... almost nothing works in that mode.

also, still some nagging issues from the past. overwrite errors when sMMS is selected. now there seems to be overwrite errors with Manila when I am only selecting the dialer.

this build seems a bit less responsive all the way around.

Maybe it's apache, maybe it's your additional selections...not seeing landscape issues on titan/vogue/tilt. Have you tried a clean build and checked landscape functionality?

Please - any help at all. I know I must be missing something, but I'm uninstalling every single time, making sure the ppckitch.org folder is delete from program files, and I can't get it back.

I'm dying here. Please...any clue? Can I manually grab this stuff down somehow instead of using updater? ](*,)

I'll try, but the problems weren't this bad with 20748.

I don't understand this statement. Also, is there a way to get the double shortcut issue resolved with the messenger client?

I posted this in other thread:
If you have vista and want it to be a fresh install, you will want to delete folder with Temp files here:
C:\Users\"Your Name"\AppData\Roaming\hIq Inc
Dont worry your password is not deleted there.

What I would like to know is exactly how is this new kitchen incompatable with the older Builds, and If so how can I go back if I update?
Can it still run older Builds if i put them in, and use selections file from older Build?
Should I rename all my existing folders to preserve my old kitchen & Builds so they will not be erased when I update?
The reason being I like the Apache_LennySh_20273 and Helmi Build 19716.1.0.0 as i am able to squeeze more OEMs in.
This Build looks same size as the Lenny so I am interested in trying it.

What he means is it is normal for Build OS to give overwrite confirmations when different dialer and other OEMs are selected that replace original files.

If you want to delete a shortcut in an OEM, go to it's "initflashfiles.txt" file, open it, look thru it and delete the shortcut line.

If your selections file has reference to older Build, that sounds wrong.
Mayby thats why you are experiencing issues.
This kitchen was updated a few times so make shure you have latest update.

The file overwrite warnings you mentioned are not something that are avoidable - stock files are being replaced with custom files.

Waste of time. The temp folders are deleted on each build.

Incompatible because of feature/format changes. You won't be able to use older kitchens until they are udated. I'm working through the list slowly.

old kitchens are never erased.

An updated Helmi build is available by manual download. I'll get it added to updater eventually. I don't have Lenny's 20273 - I'll ask him if he wants to update it.

Yes, I have done the updates. And this is from the Apache_WM6.1_20755_96DPI_0409.txt file in the group folder (even 30 seconds ago on the ftp site) There are 2 module directory entries... one of them is 20748.

GroupConfigVersion=.90.01
KitchenDir=Kitchens\Apache_Core.rar:
<ROM_OS_ID>=Apache,WM6.1_Build20755
XipFilename=Apache_20755.enc.bin

You said SYS_20748 rar. We used to leave _comon off of the SYS_(build)_common.rar.

Those really are 20748 files. There isn't a 20755 equivalent - we didn't see the need.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20755 kitchen

Ok, that helps... thanks... now for another couple of questions.

The HTC Album ("Jade") doesnt seem to launch at all when I click it. I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

Also, back to the messenger client (the one that does yahoo, aol, and msn). Yeah, it creates 2 shortcuts. It did this in the last build too. One with the normal shortcut title, and another with a (1) next to it. Much like the way windows creates a new instance of a duplicate object.

justpctech 10-17-2008 07:45 PM

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20755 kitchen

Well I'm on titan here, but Jade Album works fine for me. On the "messaging client", I'm assuming you are talking about Oz Instant Messenger client... the initflashfiles in that oem is sending shortcuts to both Windows\Start Menu and Windows\Start Menu\Programs, but they should be separate shortcuts. Not sure what might cause them to end up the way you are describing them.

jacksplat 10-17-2008 09:30 PM

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20755 kitchen

Just a quick update on all my grief...I was using windows XP, so vista wasn't the problem. Overwriting old files shouldn't have been the problem because I was uninstalling and then deleting the folder.

What I did find worked was to install one thing at a time from updater..so: launch, install buildos update, launch, part of apach module, lanuch, rest of apache, launch, instal part of vogue.

It was the only thing that worked. very odd, but it seems to have worked.
