Unhappy Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

services.exe is always using 100% cpu time. that's what is causing the speed problem.
i've unchecked everything in the buildos' oem selection.

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

Found a possible fix for the speed issue. replace the \SYS\OS\services.exe folder with the one from the 19588 build.

Can you explain what you mean in more detail?
Are you saying to do this with the files in the Kitchen before we flash?
I've not done that- just cut and paste?

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

I rebooted into Windows today and decided to reflash my phone while there. Tried out this version of WM6.1 and it is really slow. There did appear to be some new stuff available from the previous Apache versions, but I didn't have it on my phone long enough to really find out. I just went back to 19213 instead as that is what I had before and it started acting a little strange. Hopefully it works better this time through.

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

For those interested, been running 20273 with the modified services.exe all day. Everything seems to be working. Services.exe has had a cpu load of 0% the whole time. Seems really responsive and as quick as the other 2 Lenny releases. Even seems to be syncing with vista better.

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

I left Lenny a message at HTCGeeks asking him to create a new basekit with davepmer's fixes. He hasn't replied to the thread as of this morning. I'm hoping that he'll just update the basekit.

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

You can put the services.exe in the patches dir for the Kitchen and it will replace the .rar services.exe with the one in the patches dir during the build process.

I do the same thing with the wifi files (2 dll files) instead of screwing with the basekit files....

I also have a MODDED.rar from Lenny's 20273 and older version that has the 2 wifi dll mods and this new services dll mod. I just copied the .rar file to new .rar, then replaced the 2 .dll dirs with the ones I needed and the 1 .exe file (for services.exe) with the one from 19588 build.
