Re: 6.1 Battery Issue

Interesting, would an app like the HTC home program cause drain ? This is driving me nuts, last update I did to my post was maybe getting about an hour and 1/2 tops out of my phone. I'm getting ready to 1. Dump the 6700 and get a new machine with 6.1 in it 2. go back to the way it was, carry my ipaq HX4700 and a reg cell phone.

I've tried the extended battery but, it's the bulk of the phone that I can't stand, the phone is big enough.

Re: 6.1 Battery Issue

What i would do is do a reflash with a stock rom and use the phone for 1 day. If you have no drain then its nitma hardware issue.

Re: 6.1 Battery Issue

The HTC Home plugin was a big problem for me with connection issues, battery life because of connection issues, and screen space it takes up. I would recommend disabling the plugin for a couple of days to see what it does for battery life.

I'm sure this is a dumb question but, by disabling it in WM, do I just uncheck it from showing on the home page and do a soft reset ? Or should I just reflash with out it ?

Just wanted to be clear to make sure it will have some effect...

Re: 6.1 Battery Issue

That didn't have much effect tonight at least. When I did it I was at 70% battery life, had a call that was about 25 min, and then the dreaded beep, battery low....

There must be a trick to this, or some other setting that makes it run longer. At one point (if you look at my prev post on this thread), I had my phone running for 26 hours, about 4 hour talk time and in that time, I used the internet for about 45min to an hour. On the same battery I using now with 6.1 from the Kitchen. I just wish I could find that magic combo again....

Tell me this, does the phone dialer theme have any effect on battery ? On the HTC home page (I was using that when I got the long life), addding the color icons vs. the standard one have any effect ?

These are about the only other things off the top of my head that I have been keeping in each of my rebuilds (they just make the OS look better)....

Re: 6.1 Battery Issue

it is NOT the HTC home plugin. My build has that removed entirely. I am about to roll back to stock and see what the norm is for a phone call. I think the mid 300s for mA draw might not be right. if thats it, then we can report it to the devs.

Re: 6.1 Battery Issue

just rolled back to stock, installed acbPowerMeter... no noticeable difference for call drainage but it seemed a bit lower for idle time...

now i am installing 1.41 radio to see if there is an improvement there. i do recall that i rolled back from 1.41 to 1.27 before I installed 6.1

will report results.

Re: 6.1 Battery Issue

edufur,

You are back to a stock build and still seeing (basically) the same power draw as with 6.1, right? Has the battery life changed? How about charge time?
