I think I've found a bug with Activesync in 6.1. I have loaded the ROM two times and when I send an outbound email through my Exchange server, the message gets sent, however it always stays in the outbox. This means that the recipient will get the message over and over unless I delete it from the outbox.

Anyone else seen this?

i had major problems with active sync. and had to switch back to 6.0.
it wud delete all my things on exchange server if i synced an empty ph on mail2web. even though replace items on my ph was checked in case of a conflict.
the computer active sync always gave an error message and wudnt transfer appointments. even though it connected. only the contacts wud be synced the 1st time.. and it wudnt work in the 2nd computer either. both had xp SP2 installed. its an 6.1 issue and a few other people have reported it.
i think its there for everyone.. but few people actually use active sync for appointments and all. so its not reported as much.
anyone who has active sync issues or sumone who s active sync works smoothly with exchange and computer please post his selections list and bootloader here please.

I have had no problems at all with activesync or exchange. I have a Win XP computer and a Vista computer that both access the same exchange server that then syncs with my 6700. Both computers have been able to sync wht my 6700 as well.

I've personally made a number of my own modifications to the core WM6.1 files, however none directly to files related to syncing. I also use a number of customized registry settings and a .provxml to set up my exchange automatically.

My selections list is attached. You should be able to install using my selections and just ignor the extra OEMs that I personally include.

Hey gguruusa, thanks for the response. Not sure how I opened the config file. Let me know what I'm doing wrong. I downloaded and installed the software from ppckitchen.org and then loaded the .rar in the 'kitchens' of the install folder. did an update (with the updater) and it pulled in the latest , but then when I click on the BuildOS.exe in the start->programs->ppckitchen, I get the same errors listed above. Should i do a full uninstall and then try it again? Just a little confused. Anyway, thanks for the help.

And what's with the offset crosshairs on the main splash image preview up on the toolbar? Is that showing me what's actually donna display? If I choose a 240 x 320 image I should get the whole darn thing, and not what's "in the crosshairs" so to speak, right?

The main splash is 320x320, and you will see different portions of the image depending on whether you are in landscape or portrait...hence, the "cross hairs". If you choose a 240x320 image, you will have a black stripe down the right hand side in landscape.

AND, I'm wondering......with the 6.0 kitchen..POP/IMAP settings cooked in didn't "take" completely and had to be finished manually. Has this been addressed in the new ver?

No. That's a fundamental issue of WM.

I found that the description bubble for the 6 button comm manager for the apache and titan are blank. I'm wondering what 6 buttons I'm gonna get. I see I can right clik on an OEM and actually get OEM info now.......that's good.

You were able to right click in the 6.0 kitchen for additional info, too.

If same error, then you opened the same wrong file. You want to open "Apache_Helmi_WM6.1 selections.txt"

Now, if you did make sure to do a hard reset, then you definitely have other issues. Activesync can be picky, but I have not had problems connecting. Does the PC see the phone at all? Are you using a USB hub or anything other than connecting directly from the phone to the computer?

Yes, I always hard reset.
Yes, the PC does see the phone and starts to sync, but always errors out. I can still explore and it shows as connected and recognizes my device ID, but no syncing of data. I did notice that with WM6.1, I now have a new sync category on my pc in the A/S window. I'll have to look at it to get the exact name when my wife comes back with the laptop, but it's something like Microsoft Office...

Trying to go directly to the laptop and the Israeli computer. Limited success with the [US] laptop and no recognition at all from the Israeli computer.

Done and done, already. Here is some more info on the issue, that I found after experimenting.
For me, the drain is definitely internet connectivity that is constant, seemingly due to setting up Exchange push with activesync. However, unlike 6.0 or lower, 6.1 won't time the connection out. I think it's because there is a handshake issue with activesync. I've noticed that my Exchange account on my phone only works intermittently, and whenever I check the status it is always "connecting" never "connected" or "synchronizing". So the connection is constantly trying a handshake and can't get out of an 'active' mode. I've noticed this 'locks' in that status even when manually hitting send/receive. Note: this is only for syncing with a server such as Exchange push. All of my pop3 accounts or gmail accounts sync just fine.

So yes, the battery drain is due to connectivity.... however it's also related to an issue in 6.1, with active-sync and Exchange push.

I understand, but it's very misleading for the average person when you say "6.1 has a power problem" vs "Exchange Push problem in 6.1".
