Re: Arcsoft MMS 4.2.8.1

ok, dowloaded oemizer but when I select messaging nothing else happens. I'm extremely frustrated with trying to get this mms thing to work for my alltel 6700. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME BY HOLDING MY HAND AND WALKING ME THROUGH THIS THING!!! I feel utterly stupid! I saved the alltel oem that spetrillo sent to me then I was told to download oemizer which I did and now nothing. I even extracted the contents to my user oem, tried to incorporate it into my buildos, but it still shows as arcsoft mms-1/13/08 and doesn't have the new oem in the build. PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE, I'M AT MY WITTS END WITH THIS THING AND PULLING MY HAIR OUT!!!

Re: Arcsoft MMS 4.2.8.1

Screw it, I wouldn't bother.
This version of MMS has screwed up my phone. I've tried this in so many different configurations (lastly with bare minimum ROMS in order to troubleshoot).

Problems Experienced include:
- phone won't answer calls at all
- phone answers calls by itself using speakerphone, but with microphone turned off
- cannot add new email-accounts
- has intermittent sync issues with Exchange server (active push)
- random performance issues and lock-ups

Too much trouble for such a low pay-off (mapping 'send' to a soft-button is just not worth the issues... and I don't see any other benefits).

Someone let me know when the bugs are ironed out.

Sorry I have been away for a good period of time. My "day" job has sent me to Dubai, Johannesburg, Amsterdam, Tokyo, and back home. From what you are describing it sounds to me as you have something systemic going on rather than just with MMS. MMS does not get involved in the phone answering itself, or in answering calls. I do remember reading a thread about these issues and it had to do with a corrupt build? Not sure.

Anyways I am on Verizon also and my phone has never had any of the above problems, whether running 4.2.8.1 or the older version.

Thanks,
Steve

I would agree that MMS shouldn't have anything to do with the symptoms, but we all know how software can affect random things sometimes. (Especially unofficial software). I've tried this MMS on a completely clean install of 6.0 and 6.1. Problems never appear unless I'm running this version of MMS.

Hmmm....

Re: Arcsoft MMS 4.2.8.1

I'm using this version of ArcSoft MMS and haven't had any issues. I've built and flashed 2 ROMs so far and the only thing that I've found that causes a problem is the battery tweaks OEM for me. I've even received a message that played just fine without issues. Are you sure that it's not something else conflicting with this version of ArcSoft causing the problem? From what you described, it sounds more like it may be a dialer causing the phone answering issues and lockups.

I like the MMS in the new 6.1 ROM better.

Evening all,

After much debate and discussion I have decided to remove my OEM from any further testing. I appreciate those who have provided me with awesome information but I feel I should not continue with this.

Love the new WM 6.1 kitchen!

All the best,
Steve

Re: Arcsoft MMS 4.2.8.1

I have it available, though probably not the same exact version that was in this thread. I have the original OEM package of 4.2.8.1 that was put out a while ago. Settings included are for Verizon, don't know about settings if you have another carrier. You'll also have to go in and manually specify the server settings and set the Verizon connection to the default

Re: Arcsoft MMS 4.2.8.1

nutz,

are you still running a 6700? I am curious of what version of Arcsoft you are still running on your phone?

After much frustration I the OEM of 5.x.x causings conflicts with Office Mobile. I have had to revert to the 3.x my phone came with. I also read the version were phone specific, but I do not know if that is true.

I am cruious to try the 4.x since I hate the 3.x but a wondering if you get the latest 5.x to work with Mobile Outlook without issues.

Re: Arcsoft MMS 4.2.8.1

Yeah, still running this on my 6700. Build it in everytime I flash my phone. The only thing I usually have to do is go in and set Verizon to be the default server for sending/receiving.
