Since this latest build my contacts don't show up when I start typing them into text messages. Before I could start typing "Earl" for example and right about when I get to the EArl (555-5555) would show up and I could just select them from the list. Now I have to click To: and go into my contacts area and find the right person. How can I change this or what did I do wrong on this kitchen? I don't have windows word/office installed so could the autocorrect maybe be the problem? I have noticed that my words don't auto apostrophe anymore nor do certain misspellings auto correct anymore. Is this because I'm missing Word Mobile? Also, once I figure out how to get back the auto-correct feature, how can I go about adding custom corrections?

I've done the 13k tweek and turned off evdo and I've done the Vol tweek to 95k in the registry.

is anyone else having this issue?

Um, I would say, yes, pretty much everyone. The volume on the builtin speaker just plain sucks. There's nothing that you can really do for it. It's been a complaint for all the time it's been out, and the os won't change it....

try these settings in the registry. they are also included in one of the oems in the kitchen.

Change Dword value from 1 (default) to 0<STRONG><SPAN style="FONT-WEIGHT: normal">

Disable your today items (all of them) and see if your battery life improves.

yah I've seen that.. but I swear I had a rom recently that when I made those changes my volume was much louder. I just can't remember which ROM it was.... dammit.... :)

there are times when I just don't want to use my bluetooth, it's in my pocket or in my truck and I need to answer.

Run acbpowermeter and see what your power draw is - give it half a minute to stabilize. Should be around 70mA or less at idle with the screen on. If it is, then you might want to watch it over time and see if you have a data connection that's enabling periodically (those really suck power). If your average power draw is 100+, then you have something enabled that's causing your issue.

I'm having a problem with this ROM in that the device will no longer charge reliably, either from the wall or over usb. I have to cycle the power button several times before I can get it to start charging, and on usb connected to my laptop, it will only charge with the power button turned off. Additionally, activesync over usb will no longer work (while it works fine over bluetooth). Internet sharing works fine over usb, but no activesync. Everything worked fine with the previous WM5 install. Thoughts?

All of your problems sound like usb cable/port issues. I can't explain your "will only charge with the power button turned off" symptom - that one makes little sense. Let's start at the beginning - did you add OEMs or cabs that are not part of the kitchen? Does the top right LED change to solid orange when you plug in your usb cable?
