I love it when it's that easy.
If I change "Ring-Standard .wma" to the name of one of the rings in this folder, will that cause an error? Do I have to change all three references? Will change the default ringtone?

You have an extra comma at the end of the first key.

Code:

...
            "battlestar_galactica .wma",
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring]

Change the other reg keys to the ringtone you want them to default to.

Error 100: Wrong Model

Q4: I get "error 100: Model id error", what should I do?
A: It may due to you get the wrong image. Please check your device¡¦s device name and language type and download proper RUU package from the vender web site again and reset your device and then run RUU again.

I've been at it for at least six hours now. I've had to revert back to the 2.02 version. After much sweating, I got it there, but now, when I go to burn the ROM, the message above comes up. I've tried putting it in bootload and installing and syncing successfully, while in the OS, and it comes up with the same error.

I'm not sure what the instruction above means. What am I looking for in my device name and language type?

Here's my device info:

Verizon XV6700
2.02 bootloader
Standard Verizon WM5 load

Let me know if you need more info than this.

Please advise.

Thank you for your time.

If you have the wrong RUU selected in buildOS, it won't flash. Changing your bootloader changes which version you need.

Also make sure the device is in bootloader mode, and connected to USB.

Double check and make sure your bootloader actually is version 2.02 to make sure it wasn't flashed to a higher number during the different attempts.

Hello,
I'm new to this forum and to tweaking a sprint 6700 with a kitchen. I've got the rom "cooked" that I want and already on my phone. Problem is that the apps. seem to not be in settings or any places that the items selected should be. Did I miss something simple in the build process that needs done to activate the items on the phone? Sorry for the bother, but I am truly a newbee with using a kitchen. Thanks for any help.
----I posted this in the upgrades forum as well as here. I don't get alot of time on the comp. and checking online for a reply sometimes takes me some time. So sorry for the second post just trying to cover my bases.------

Thanks guys, moving the ringtone to the device seems to have fixed the issue.

When you get a call, the phone wakes up and has to then initialize the storage card which takes time, and then it has to read the file from the storage card which is slower than main memory.

And also what GGuru said about signal and too many running processes or apps set to run or trigger when the phone is woken up.

I want to say thanks to everyone who worked on the wm6 upgrade and the kitchen, I really appreciate your work in bringing this update to those of us who love our phones but our carriers don't.

That said, I'm having trouble getting my direct push to work again with my exchange server. We are using 2007 with a self-signed ssl cert. On wm5 I was able to use the registry changes along with importing the cert manually to make it work. With my new upgrade I am now getting the message "server cert is wrong". I was unable to find any real answer searching google and these forums. I have tried to manually import the cert and doing the registry change but I'm still running into the same problem.

To be more specific, without the registry change, I get a message stating the server is the wrong name, with the registry it just tells me the certificate is wrong. I have checked all date/time settings on both my server and my phone, both match exactly. I have full access to the exchange server and phone. Any ideas ? Are there any new registry tweaks that can be done ?
Or is this just a case of having a self-signed cert and I should buckled down and buy a real one ?

I dont have a solution to your current problem, but i do have a work around. . .
Get a free SSL cert from http://cert.startcom.org/.

all I do is import the CA cert from my memory card & then when I connect to exchange the server cert is approved.

Its Free, secure, & works great.

Hi all, can anyone help me out. I don't get the auto complete when writing a message and I tried using regedit to find the key mentioned in the fix on the first page but the folder (and key) don't even exist, are there any other fixes out there?

Also, my HTC Home weather plugin doesn't get the weather, it keeps saying unable to retrieve data...why's that? The rest of the internet works fine by default and this used to work before i used the cooked rom.

Other than those 2 things, I love this! Great work!

Also, if anyone can PM me, i'd appreciate it too as I dont know if i'll be able to even find my message again haha.

Which keyboard are you using? That fix is only for the HTC Touch Keyboard, so if you're not using that, it won't fix your problem. On the other hand, if those keys are missing alltogether, then that could be your problem.

For HTC Home weather problems, use the newest OEM or fix the registry entry to read the new server.

Sorry.. I had put this in the wrong thread....

I'm having a small issue and I've search this thread plus all the other ones.

I'm on the latest Helmi Mod and have been since it came out. I up'd to the rev right before the 11/17 update and it's like a rock.

However, one problem I've been having is the volume in the earpiece. BT is fine, but the ear piece stinks.

I've done the 13k tweek and turned off evdo and I've done the Vol tweek to 95k in the registry.

is anyone else having this issue?

Maybe I'm missing a thread about it somewhere? Maybe I'm just getting older and my hearing is getting worse?

Any ideas? wanna kick me and tell me to look at another thread?

Many thanks.
