and at first glance- the IPhone feels like a good deal too.

If we are to fool people with this, why not have an 800mhz option? Maybe even a memory app that says the phone has more than it does. Actually, we already have that now don't we...

I'd just like to say i also experienced a noticeable difference when running @ 520 rather than 620 or normal. This was before i read that it could possibly be doing nothing at all. If it was in fact a placebo effect wouldn't i be fooled into thinking that the 620 setting was faster then 520??? It just doesn't make any sense that it's not doing anything.

No way... it HAS to be doing something... Almost EVERYTHING is noticeably faster. I can't be imagining it... please tell me I'm not that gullible!

normal operations deffinatly seem faster. Just opening the start menu and overall responsiveness.

Odd.

Unhappy Greater performance does not come without a price.

I, too - uploaded and installed the software subject at hand... and - set to 520 - I found it did improve my XV6700's speed, BUT - when on an extended phone conversation, it suddenly hung up and went to Flight Mode. When I attempted to alter the setting, it would accept the setting, but then revert back to Flight Mode. Kept doing same for well over an hour. Must have gotten too hot and had to cool down. Not Kewl!

I have to agree it "feels" faster to me. But what the heck bring on the placebo affect.

added this to my rom, wasnt sure what 'dynamic CPU frequency' scaling was for. Since it wasnt checked as a default i had left it that way til I read this post. Anyone have an explaination of this item, what it dones and when it should be checked?

I could be wrong, but I believe it's what makes the app work, scaling the 400MHZ as high as the highest speed selected when needed. I found that it seems to affect perfomance only after a soft reset. A users guide would be great if there was one.
