Is that running in VMWare too? Looks like more of an issue with the fake video drivers rather than buildOS itself.

You'll probably get a nicer GUI appearance as well as quicker build times if you just build the ROM in your host OS and then only use VMWare for flashing. The kitchen is 64bit compatible.
