Freezing at windows boot screen

This is a great kitchen. I really love the HTC apps. One issue I have...every so often (once a week) I perform a soft reset and my Apache (Verizon) gets stuck in the Windows Mobile Bootup screen. I have tried everything and eventually needs to HARD reset my phone. Has anyone experienced the same issue?

What I think I am going to do is remove some stuff from my build and then see how the device responds. I have about 16 meg free once the ROM is flashed...you might be right!

I do use the task manager to shutdown unneeded apps. The only one I leave up is Activesync since I get my email that way.

agunjal, did you use the HTC Home plugin with the big clock? If so, some people believe that the weather portion of that is what causes the type of lockups you describe. It has been recommended that you turn off the autoupdate of weather within that program to see if it is what causes your issue.

voip is not working. the voip setup app creates the provision file, but the service itself never initiates. even when WiFi is on, it never authenticates. I read how 3G was a problem for the CDMA units but WiFi was still supposed to work... but it doesnt.

Problem reading Jar book.
1. click *.jar. ---- load Java app
2. Application:*.jar is untrusted,continue anyway? --- Click yes
3. Do you want to launch the MIDlet? ---- click yes
4. Java application disappear

with WM5, java app can load *.jar book correctly.

I had this issue with my older 6700 (before it was replaced due to a high-speed run-in with the a wall). I was running stock everything, so I don't think it's a kitchen issue. I've experienced, and heard about a lot of weird quirks and functionality problems with the oldest 6700 phones (1st production generation). My newer phone even looked a little different (different stamps, and even the plastic felt a little different), and has nopt had those types of quirks.

This is a known issue with the HTC plug-ins (specifically the weather). For details, search the threads.

The fix: install any program that allows you to boot into safemode. (MonoCube Safemode is great). When the phone locks, just boot to safemode, disable HTC on today screen, boot backto normal mode and re-enable HTC plugin.

This typically happens after battery is depleted as well.
