They're not in a password protected rar.

I then did a manual sync and it happened again, so I undocked it and it immediately sped back up. The rom I built is fairly basic, with mohairsoft calendar+ 2.7 and spb mobile shell (including embedded spb phone tools and spb weather) on the today screen. Nothing else was running in the background (but perhaps pocket outlook and activesync).

Any thoughts?
SPB apps can be resource hogs and I am unfamiliar with the other app. If you have time, please build a ROM without any additions to it (use the stock selections.txt) and see if you still get the same issue. If not then it is a problem relating to one of those applications (or the combination of them).

But MS has gone on record saying that there are performance issues when you have a very large contacts database (more than 100 or so), so that could come into play as well.

the problem i had was that the htc64 tool ..i had used to cook previous rom on this comp and it gave the older places to copy and get the nbk and fat16 files. i cud get the fat16 file from the rom folder but where do i save it .please specify the path as the tool doesnt remember anything. i even had to name the file as nk.nbf. as the name was also default.. however it encoded successfully but the buildOS tool gave an final error as nk.nbf file not found. then i manually placed the nk.nbf file which it saved to the noid ruu folder and ran the application . it loaded my rom till 100 pc and asked me to hard reset .but on hard resettign apart from the 1st screen with htc logo and the build and valus given nothing happened. tried soft resetting hard restting and all. but it wud alway give the same .. waited for sum time took out the battery n all but no avail.
please if u cud also load the reliance prj file which is missing in the tools folder. i have that working file but dont know where to upload it .
thanks ..
Sorry about that--I don't think we've ever had a Reliance prj file. I suspect it uses the generic UTSI_001 CID, so you should be able to use the Cellular South, Vivo Brazil, MoviStar_Venezuela, or Telus prj files (they are all exactly the same despite the different names). We'll correct that for a future release but for now please choose one of those (don't worry it won't brand your PPC with that name or anything) and see if you have better luck. Also make certain at the stage where you select the prj that you back all the way out to C: and go back into the proper folder (most cases C:\BuildOS\Tools).

In theory (I don't think we tested it) you can accomplish this without editing the kitchen .rar. Contact me in the chat room and I'll walk you through how to do it. After verifying the method works, I'll post a how-to in the BuildOS thread.

Two Questions:

1. I installed Live Google Search to play around with it and ultimately see if I prefer it to Windows Live. The problem is that I can't find Google Search anywhere on my phone. I checked "windows", "programs", and plugins for the Today Screen. Any ideas?

2. When I first installed from a ROM I made, the clock plug-in for the Today Screen was 1line but it's now two even thought I used the OEMizer and specifically check that I wanted it to be 1 line. Anyone else experience this?

1. That OEM is just a tweak to use google's search engine with the existing Live app. You still use the same plugin to search with--but when the results come up they will be from google instead. To my knowledge google itself hasn't released a plugin of their own.

2. The reason for this is due to the battery meter showing up top. When you have the battery meter up there, the clock moves down to the date plugin, and there's not enough room for the long date and time on the same line. So if you must have a single line date then you need to put the clock back up top (look in the Tweaks section of buildos for that if you want to do it at build time). As an alternative you can turn off the date plugin entirely and use one of the 3rd party ones that were designed never to exceed one line... I can't think of their names off hand but a search here and/or at xda-developers should pull something up. Maybe someone else here can give you a name and/or link as well.

luv2chill,

Thanks a ton for taking the time to give two great explanations. You've always been extremely helpful on this and other forums.

BTW, for those who haven't tried it, Tier Autoinstall under "Customizations" in the kitchen works great! I have no clue how to make OEM's but I now have three CAB files that automatically install.

The limiting factor regarding room is the size of the extended rom, correct? If that's the case, I can safely assume that any cabs I store in extended rom to install using Tier's Autoinstall will take away from things I can install with the kitchen.

WM6 VoIP not working?

When I cooked my ROM, I selected the "WM6 VoIP" component, and I am able to configure my SIP provider with the setup program, but I can't get beyond that.

I am connected via Wi-Fi, my SIP session is configured to be used whenever available, and Internet Calling is checked to show up on my Today screen (although nothing shows up)

I don't know if the integrated SIP client doesnt work at all or if it is my problem. Can someone help me to find out if there is a way to troubleshoot my SIP connection?

Thanks
