Other Than Flakey Connection Problems In Rom Build..

Where You Have To Mess With Everything About 30 Mins To Get
A Rom To Load To The Device... Most Everything Is Working Ok On
Second Build Try....

One Real Bug... You Can Not Load Pim Backup 2.5 .. It Flat Refuses
It , Says Its Not For This Machine .....

So Please Make Us A Add On Cab For Pim Backup 2.5 That Actually
Works With This Rom ....

Need Asap... As Most Anyone Who Had Their Office Or Contacts Ect Backed Up To The Sd Card... We Can Now Not Restore Anything...

Dead In The Water Without Pim Backup ....

Thanks Very Much!!!!

Did I overlook the extended ROM unlocker? mine is locked and hidden. Yeah I know I can unlock in the registery. But if I am going to be cooking and testing, the extra space would be nice. Should I just rip the OEM from another kitchen and stuff it in the user OEM folder? Yeah, Ill try that
Thanks for the help

having trouble loading the rom.. it hangs on the 1st boot screen..
i cooked up 3 roms and all of them seem to give this problem.i decreased the files in each one thinking i had an overcooked rom but it still hung there.. the initial htc screen didnt even goto the wm green screen. while cooking i cudnt find the reliance prj file so i loaded it from my previous wm6 helmi rom.. i had loaded the same prj file for a wm6 verizonguys rc1 rom so i can confirm that its working.. had to go back to that rom again to keep me on a ph.. thankfully the older one loaded fine now.
the problem i had was that the htc64 tool ..i had used to cook previous rom on this comp and it gave the older places to copy and get the nbk and fat16 files. i cud get the fat16 file from the rom folder but where do i save it .please specify the path as the tool doesnt remember anything. i even had to name the file as nk.nbf. as the name was also default.. however it encoded successfully but the buildOS tool gave an final error as nk.nbf file not found. then i manually placed the nk.nbf file which it saved to the noid ruu folder and ran the application . it loaded my rom till 100 pc and asked me to hard reset .but on hard resettign apart from the 1st screen with htc logo and the build and valus given nothing happened. tried soft resetting hard restting and all. but it wud alway give the same .. waited for sum time took out the battery n all but no avail.
please if u cud also load the reliance prj file which is missing in the tools folder. i have that working file but dont know where to upload it .
thanks ..

okay heres an annoyance i just found and want to know if its a bug or just normal.

- i installed the touch keypad sip and when i want to type something in i got two choices, "touch keyboard" and "touch keypad". Both of these being installed is this normal?

- okay, if im in calendar and i bring up the touch keyboard 20, it brings up a full button layout with every letter separate and numbers at the top. I love this! BUT!
when im actually in an entry box about to type a letter, i bring up that same keyboard and it shows a qwerty layout.. i dont like this and i would think it should bring up that full keyboard like before.. touch keypad the same thing it brings up a phonepad style layout. I want that full out style.. and in no app can i actually use it.

attached is my selections

FamilyDog,
PimBackup 2.5 works fine on my device, without HTC home. It did seem a little flaky (unwilling to come to the top) when I had HTC Home running.

Nick,
The ExtRom unlocker is included in the first or second grouping of BuildOS. And yes, the extended rom needs to be unlocked - the mounthidden registry tweak alone does not make it available for writing. That was one of the causes of my second flash yesterday.

Overall a great kitchen experience - 3.5 on Steroids!. (BTW- any other comments on power usage? From what I can tell after about 16 hrs, my custom rom is no more power hungry than my 3.5, maybe even uses a little less power.)

Last night I had a MAJOR slowdown of the phone during a usb activesync. It didn't respond to screen or button presses for 20-30 seconds, then it cought up with itself when the sync was done (which seems to take a long time for no changes, but perhaps it's just looking through my decent size contact/calendar listings). I then did a manual sync and it happened again, so I undocked it and it immediately sped back up. The rom I built is fairly basic, with mohairsoft calendar+ 2.7 and spb mobile shell (including embedded spb phone tools and spb weather) on the today screen. Nothing else was running in the background (but perhaps pocket outlook and activesync).

Any thoughts?

S2U2 looks like it might be "old" as well - some of the OEMs are pretty fast moving targets, having them in a password protected rar file might be a support issue long term.

Luv,

I do not understand what it could be, I load a rom from the .7 kitchen from Verizonguy and mms works right away, I load a rom from the new kitchen and the message cannot be sent, I verified all the server settings and everything is correct. Here is my config:
