Well that's odd then, because my documentation says it was part of last release. Nonetheless, it's been fixed and will be part of the next release.

Re: New BuildOS - Report Bugs Here

While using BuildOS to reflash my phone I just started getting this error:

kitchens\PPCGeeks_OEM.rar
File create error

This has got me totally confused. I just used BuildOS earlier today and it worked just fine. Now I am getting this error.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

That's an incompatiblity between two packages. You're probably using Lenny's kitchen...check with him.

Re: New BuildOS - Report Bugs Here

To narrow it down, unselect some oems. One of them is causing the problem. If you'll post which it turns out to be, we can see about permanently resolving it.

Re: New BuildOS - Report Bugs Here

My kitchen is broken. I have tried for the past four months to get it to work without any success. It is mainly due to G'Reloc being unable to find the output folder. Somehow a \\ gets into the path and it doesn't work. I have tried the suggestions-unrar archives, edit selections.txt, turn off antivirus. Uninstalled 4 times and started from scratch. I'm about to try the one thing that i'd rather not do which is to refomat my PC, and reinstall. My question is- is G'Reloc necessary? It wasn't a part of the old kitchens. Although the old 3.5 kitchen was harder to use it at leas worked without having to jump thru hoops or reformat my computer to make it work. Sorry if this comes off as a rant but though many including GGuuUSA have tried to help it's still not working, and I'm frustrated.

Yes, it's required. In the old days, the equivalent of G'reloc was done before release. That isn't practical now and it was a major source of issues.

I haven't gotten around to looking at your files yet, but its on my list for tomorrow. Unfortunately, we don't have the source to G'reloc so this problem may be challenging to resolve.

Re: New BuildOS - Report Bugs Here

I wish I would have checked this thread earlier...

I talked to GGuruUSA about my G'Reloc issue in the IRC channel earlier. I've been able to build ONE time without getting the error. Probably 100 builds since then have all had the error. No change in hardware or software between when it worked and when it stopped.

Earlier I decided to remove several items from my XP startup. I removed one wrong thing and broke my install. None of the boot discs I have with registry repair tools see my HDD thanks to this laptops odd/newer SATA controller. So I just did a fresh XP install.

Fresh XP install. All xp updates up to ~april 08, 7zip, CCleaner, pidgin IM, and Firefox slipstreamed in.
Installed .net 3.5
Installed BuildOS.
Downloaded Helmi_c's Apache kitchen, ppcgeeksOEM, and the BuildOS update and with the updater...
Loaded up BuildOS with the Helmi_c project file.
Changed nothing and hit the build button...

G'Reloc error.

No clue what else to try at this point...

... except try another PC.

I tried another PC. Old crappy XP install. Its really full of cruft.
It had the G'Reloc error as well.

I would try my roomates's PC but its 600Mhz celeron with 256MB of ram would probably take forever to get setup to build. Let alone actually do the build.
