Thought I would try this out, choose options then click on little Play button it tells me put in bootloader mode, I do and it continues install to where I have to click next on PC, it just sits there and hangs and tells me it has an error connecting to device. Everytime it does this and kills my software. I have several times done this, and also went back and reinstalled the original Sprint Rom off thier site, no problems there either. I never have connection issues (yet it is connected and can upload in bootloader mode thru vaious other Roms) until I tried to load this onto my unit.

What am I missing? Can someone please point me in the right direction as I would like to use this very much.

Thanks.
Make sure you are selecting the correc bootloader and that your phone is in bootloader mode.

Where do I select the "correct" bootloader? I have version 2.02 on my phone, and like I stated in my post, had no problems with previous loads or going into bootloader. I am using the kitchen on my Vista Ultimate 64bit machine.

My phone is a PPC-6700 Sprint version, BL 2.02, what other details do you need?

You have to select the bootloader in the dropdown menu on the top panel in the kitchen. I don't have Vista. Did you do previous builds on Vista?

WiFi connectivity?

Hi. I am a new user, but have flashing my firmware for a while now. I noticed that after I installed this fimware, my wifi connectivity stopped working for WPA secured networks. It works fine for WEP and unsecured networks but it just can't connect to a WPA secured network. It sometimes shows "Available" so I try to connect then and still no success-most of the time though it says "Unavailable." Any ideas to how to fix this? I am hoping it might just be a registry tweak... Oh and I am using "Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0) - UPDATED 20071217" on an XV6700, Verizon Wireless. Thanks in advance

This may be a shot in the dark but there is a .cab file which addresses this
issue, details http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9298.

The file is WM6 WPA-PSK fix.cab.

I have seen elsewhere that you must also enable TKIP as well as WPA-PSK on your router....

Please note I have not personally tried this but it is probably worth a look!

Problem with Verizon Customization

After installation, I expect the phone to run a bunch of Verizon specific programs. That is what happened the last time I used the older version of the Kitchen. When I tried it with the latest version of the kitchen, the phone no longer runs through that type of customization. I have selected Verizon in the drop down before I build the image. I am afraid to transfer service to this phone because I am not sure it will work. Is this something new, or am I doing anything wrong?

thanks

gorb,
You're probably not doing anything wrong.
The verizon customizations are built into the rom (assuming you picked Verizon where necessary in the kitchen), so there is no need to run them from the extended rom. The autorun that you are used to seeing has been removed from the latest versions of the kitchen to avoid the conflicts that happen when the customizations are allowed to run on top of the ones already built into the rom.
Good luck, tmb

Well it has under RUU (which I think you are refering)"Standard,NOID or X.04+" I leave it selected as Standard. I have not done previous builds in a kitchen only used Helmi's previous one (as stated in previous post) and sprint original. In the tips.txt it says Vista and 64bit versions are supported.
