WORKING HTC Album!

Hey guys ...someone at xda-developers cracked the HTC Album work on older devices that don't have the new cam ... I installed it and it works pretty well BUT its a pain in the butt to get it to see your images on the Storage Card.

heres where you can get it at

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341131&highlight=htc+album+wizard

its a great application ...hope they can fix the little bugs enjoy!

you can get it to read all your jpg on your device ....

this is what i did ....just install it ..

1) start your camera then change the setting so when you take pictures it saves it in storage card ....

2) if you dont have the folders /Storage Card/My Documents/My Pictures
....just take a picture and it will be created

3) then using a file explore or activesync from your PC ..head over to
/My Devices/My Documents/

RENAME: My Picture --to-- _My Picture

4) restart HTC Album ...

5) you should see every jpg on your device even from My Devices and Storage Card

NOTE: HTC Album does not close when you click on the "X" even though you have a program that sets "X" to close ...it just minimizes ...so make sure HTC Album is closed before you restart it

Here's the cab file. Just install and it works. If it's not in your program's menu, it's still there but under the MultiMedia folder.

i'll wait till there is a fix for storage card access and formats other than jpeg (if it ever comes) then i'll give this a try. all my pics are on my card so this wont help me right now.

I also tried the CM imageviewer and i like the premise of it, hope he continues to work on it...

Note that if you have a "My Pictures" folder on your device in addition to the one on your SD card, simply renaming the one on the card isn't sufficient. You need to get rid of/rename the one on the device as well.

So how did folks here get the camera to not re-create the "My Pictures" folder the next time you took a picture (and thus cause HTC Album) to again find no pictures?

I edited the registry and changed all of the HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\P1 thru P8 keys named "SaveFolder" that had a value of "My Pictures" to "_My Pictures". This is in addition to telling the camera to save files on the memory card. Anyone know an easier way?
