I don't see the value that it brings, so I want to remove it from the ROM. In my experience, QuickGPS hasn't helped me get faster GPS locks in Garmin Mobile XT, therefore I don't need it.

Hmmm, as soon as I take BROWSING, BROWSINGCORE, and browsingie out of the ROM it stops booting past the halfway point, although the XDA Wiki says that they are optional.

Anyone had success removing these packages?

I am trying to cut down the ROM by removing as much MS-waste as possible.

I'm quite sure WinMo needs PocketIE to work correctly. There must be dependencies as acidhax just told us...

I am still using it, works well. It has a few minor issues but I have not found any serious problems.

What are the "minor issues" you're talking about ?
I'd like to try your ROM but I'd like to be sure that it's at least as good as the one I'm running

ok I'll try once more to cook 28008 with things I find necessary but first to switch to some other phone and not lose the data
