Should I be setting the "Real WM 6.5 AKU" checkbox in Visual Kitchen? Setting this checkbox results in a failed build when executing kitchen_build_rom.bat after the line: set DSM_INCLUDES=* Not setting the flag results in a successful build of around 93MB, which seems a little big to me (kitchen_build_rom.bat doesn't even get executed now): executing NBHUtils to build nbh file... Volume in drive C has no label. Volume Serial Number is 560F-21A1 Directory of C:\ROM_Kitchen\RELEASE_PANT100 11/26/2009 08:59 93,356,958 ruu_signed.nbh 1 File(s) 93,356,958 bytes 0 Dir(s) 31,594,176,512 bytes free Done!!! Due to a trojan warning, I wasn't able to install osnbtool. Could this be causing the failed build with the check set? UPDATE: I commented out the following line in kitchen_build_rom.bat as recommended on some websites in order to build correctly with the Real WM 6.5 AKU checkbox set. REM **************** if not "%errorlevel%"=="0" goto error This results in a successful build of 93MB, but the build won't boot. It stalls with about 1cm of white bar showing in the boot screen. The image that I obtained from the 1.0_WM6.5_21857_GSM_Treo_Pro.7z archive installs and boot successfully however, so I think this must be something to do with my setup. HELP!!! Thx, Brett. You should be able to Select Pant100, the XIP and SYS from the drop-menu, unselect the packages you don't want installed. And Create. If it still fails than I'll test it at home. If your anti-virus is messing with the ROM creation, than yes, it will cause it to fail. Turn it off while building. I'm sorry for my lack of insight, I haven't been getting home until late the last few days Last edited by acidhax; 11-26-2009 at 09:26 AM. |

Re: 6.5.3: 28004
Building with or without the Real WM 6.5 option doesn't change anything for me in terms of success in booting the resultant ROM. Both result in a ROM that won't boot past about 1cm of white bar in the boot screen.
During the build process the virus scanner doesn't kick in and complain, but it is during the install that osnbtool.exe triggers a trojan warning and therefore can't be installed. I will try installing the kitchen with osnbtool.exe again tonight onto another machine (do I need to move osnbtool.exe from the Tools\IMGFS directory to the Tools directory??) and see if that helps. Oh, and what about the EXT Build? I found that I could only set that after I created an empty EXT\PANT100\28004 directory and an EXT\SHARED (to stop it complaining all the time). Should there have been something in your package for these directories? Thx again for you help. Regards, Brett. Last edited by brettw.10; 11-26-2009 at 09:54 AM. |

Re: 6.5.3: 28004
Without changing anything, I ran the compilation again and now it works. I have the 28004 build installed on my Treo Pro and it boots!
However, in the Today or Home view there is a link for "getting started". Whenever I select any of the options it spits back a .NET CF Initialization Error: The application failed to load required components. If the .NET Compact Framework ist installed on a storage card, please ensure that this card is in place and launch the application again. If this fails, a re-installation of the .NET Compact Framework is recommended. Support info: -2147479552 (80001000). Is this is known problem that others can reproduce? PS: Downloading and installing .NET Compact Framework doesn't work, as there is already a newer version installed in the ROM. I was contemplating leaving it out and installing .NET myself, but I am worried that the ROM won't boot without it. PPS: Removing WelcomeCenter from the ROM gets rid of the "getting started" section. Thx, Brett. Last edited by brettw.10; 11-26-2009 at 12:05 PM. Reason: Updated with workaround. |

Re: 6.5.3: 28004
Can't imagine that that would work. The version that is included in the ROM is 3.5.9198.0 according to the files in \SYS\28004\SHARED\COMMON\NetCF, and therefore installing anything older won't float.

Re: [NOV/26] 6.5 Kitchens: 28005, 23511, 23091
This is great... one thing though. I see a lot of kitchen's going up, but not a lot of ROMs being posted. Anyone care to post their product?
Also, is there a readme on cooking with your kitchen, acid? |
