Just a word to say that I totaly agree with travisgarrison about the extra cab files you could put in a zip file, so that people would install the apps wanted on their Treo Pro with a fully naked ROM deployed.
Since I'm here, I have to say that I noticed a lockup on the screenlock yesterday and had to soft-reset. I was writing a SMS, and left the phone for a few minutes (before trying to send the message) when it happened.

I'll try today to make a full naked rom without the treo things and without most of ms things that can be left out... so with that as our base we can go further

So there will be 2 kind of rom's from now on and 2 kind of cooking:

- full NAKED thing, without anything not needed
- and my favorite ROM which should look like all other nice ROM's out there, but with as low use of resources as it could ;)

I'm also noticing the lockup. I went into Advanced config and disabled all of the power management options but that didn't seem to change anything. Like the others, the symptoms seem to be that the screen saver comes on but the phone stops being responsive. It's not every time though. Perhaps there is a memory leak somewhere?

I never thought I would tell this to a guy, but thanks for going fully naked man. I'm looking forward to that. Do you think you'll put Manila 2D on the fully naked ROM? Either that or perhaps include the install instructions that you used to get it to work?

Some people have this problem with GSM when their device falls out of 3G mode and their SIM Card freezes... Try setting your device to use 2G.

Guys, this will be a little harder than I thought at first,
today I've flashed my treo dozen of times trying to get it right with the Nakedness, but so far no luck. it seems like I need to learn much more about dependencies of various stuff which are in the rom. You can't just delete whatever we don't like because it seems like there are lot of x-references in WM. so please be patient, and only promise I have is that I'm working on it... as soon as I have something that I can give to you for testing and knowing that it will not make a big pain in the a.. to you all.

Acid, I had the lockup happen several times today while flying (i.e., the phone function was off completely)... does that eliminate the 3G/2G theory as the primary cause?

Just a word to tell you that this ROM works great.
In a future release, you could also erase all Titanium_*.cpr files (but Titanium_320x320.cpr) situated in \Windows. There are 13 files of 32ko each, it's a good way to have more free space ;)

Oups I found a bug, and a huge one : have a look @ the screenshots attached :laughing6:
All the phone application seems to have a problem with text and icon sizes (it occurs while the phone rings and shows "incoming call screen" with icon and name of the caller (Screen02.jpg), and once you are in the phone app itself (Screen01.jpg).
Hopefully it doesn't affect the phone functionality :king:

Just to let you know : there were 98704 ko of free storage (!!!!) before I installed IconSoft PhoneEx (2.2) to avoid the phone application problem.
And now it's installed there are still 52MB of free program memory (more than 53MB before) : well done Heechee ;)

The screenshots of your phone's behavior don't look the same as what I'm seeing. It's malformatted but not too much worse than before. Heechee I haven't had the phone lock up on me but I haven't been using it for that long either.

OK, I'll try different phonecanvas in the next version... which will be in 2-3 days if you can wait that long, and that time I'll spend trying to solve previous + new issues :) and to lose some more weight on the rom if possible :)

I experienced a lockup this evening. It was simply in a stand-by mode.
FYI with PhoneEx installed, the phone application problem is gone (by using the PhoneEx phone app off course)

Only problem PhoneEx is not free... I'll try to sort it out, which I hope will not be too hard.. .maybe it has something to do with themes which I left out? :)

More interesting problem is lockup issue which I have to remember what else did I do when I had the same issue...

I installed PhoneEx (not free, you're right) because it was the first app I thought about...
Concerning the lockup, with Acid WinMo 6.5.3 b23089 version I didn't experienced any, but I just can't tell you (for the moment) what I was doing when it happened with your 28014 3b1 version. I think my phone was just sleeping in my pocket ;)

try:
power - advanced settings:
- disable screen saver (turn off device if not used - on)

- or try reverse.... Screen saver enabled - phone off if not used disabled

Heechee. I have been using my phone all day and no lockups. I think the weekend should be a good indicator to whether the problem is gone or not.

My phone freezed on more time during the night.
This morning I modified the settings so that the phone doesn't enter power saving mode, and will give you feedback asap.

Yes, maybe there's a file missing in the naked ROM which is needed by WinMo or a dependant program... ?

My phone also froze this morning... I was really hoping it was just third party software but that was a clean build with just the WMDC sync done for my contacts.

I've talked to many other chefs, and it could be some driver/build issue... that means that the original treo driver is in conflict with something in the new SYS build working on it to find root cause of the problem....
