Re: Windows Phone 7... Doomed?

The phone only app store at the Microsoft phone 7 marketplace is like candy land..if 7 is to survive the serious and functioning programs we already have and have had for quite some time, must be updated and down-loadable with out a phone connection.. through active sync/device center.. Don't get a bad case of Iphone envy.. I'm in it for the real qwerty keyboard... We're so close to realizing a pocket computer with guts, but Its gonna crash if we don't stop seeing it as a phone that acts like a Droid, its not a phone! (it has one) it is a PPC....

You are obviously not in the demographic that is being targeted by Microsoft with this product.
You probably fall more into the windows embeded category.
It's more of a niche product and has more of what YOU are looking for.
WP7 is a direct competitor for the iPhone and will have a broader appeal.
The cool thing is that we all have choices and we aren't stuck with one or another.

The guys at the kiosks don't know their own last name.
We need to give them a business card directing them to this site!
They're a bunch of Lames! (Yes... I just turned a verb into a noun) LOL.

I had to get my sim card switched, I messed with it some more today. it is a learning curve over winmo, but it did grow on me a little :).

You mean that old technology processor was able to preform at a satisfactory level?
Hmmm... Where did I hear that... Did someone here mention that this would be the case due to the OS being as "light" as it is?

Alot of the programs will be extinct. Some will continue to get updates as WinMo appears to be hanging around for a while at least... Windows Embeded is based on WinMo 6.5.3. However some will be gone forever from the WinMo platform... Most developers choose to develop for 3 platforms. Now we have WP7, iOS, Android, Rim at the forefront... They may support 4 but WinMo is not likely to be one of them.
But who knows.

Yep - exactly - wish folks would understand that! But I don't think they'll really get it until 7.5, but I really hope WP7 does well!!!
