The 528mhz chip was not even optimized or accelerated and often performed worse then the old slower processors.

Yes M$ does not manufacture or decide the phones, HTC does. and HTC is the one that completely destroyed window's brand. While Microsoft stood there watching. And HTC was never about "understanding windows"..they just exploited a market with no competition in the most efficient way possible. If they didn't do this they wouldn't have grown as big as they are to day..

HTC always: 1) didn't pay to license the acceleration 2) put minimum ram 3) updated the least necessary hardware so that you update.

Honestly we cant stop the rise of windowsphone7 comming out. All I could say is we willl unlock it modify it and make it ours no matter what they do. Its NETCOMPACTFRAMEWORK4.0 . Look we got developers here that rock the framework and call it son. There is no need to worry about it , we can customize and make it do what we want. This is the PPC GEEKS anthem hahahaha lock what!!!!yeah right any and every phone is dictated by us ,not the company who makes it. They make it,,,,we make it better thats what we do so rest easy.

yeah ur right. they should def. go back to the 6.5 interface that theyve been using for years that was allowing them to get crushed in the smartphone arena by rim, apple, and google. what were they thinking trying something new and fresh they should have just stayed with what wasnt working

the reason it happened is largely irrelevant to my post. the point i was trying to make was in respone to microsoft should stick with 6.5 whic is just riduculous. as much as i love winmo the writing is on the wall. its a sinking ship (outside out ppcg and xda etc.). the general public hasnt adapted it which is what microsoft is after.

just like a sports team if they keep losing and losing game after game, season after season its stupid to think that they should employ the same strategy and it will work. what do they do, bring in a new coach and change everything completly which is exactly what microsoft is doing.

people say if it aint broke dont fix it. well in m$'s case its broken, they could either try to fix it (which theyve tried to do with 6.1, 6.5, 6.5.3 etc) or they can get a new "it" which is what theyre doing.

what i think a lot of people here as well as xda fail to realize is microsoft isnt after our demographic primarily. the overwhwelming population of people that would sign the "boycott" are guys like us, geeks for the most part. the averaqge joe blow off the street doesnt even know what wp7 is yet. thats what they are after, the casual person aka the person whos attarcted to the iphone. while it does suck for people like us its completly understandable and justified.

im looking forward to see if they can pull it off and im exicted for the release of wp7

Hmmm I read the statement on windows mobile 6.5 sucking lets see
1) I can transfer movies from my computer and put them on my phone . Then watch movies when I travel.
2) With youtube play I can download any video and mp3 that I want for free.
3) I can run playstation on my phone just in case I forgot to bring my PSP along for the ride.
Those are just 3 basic things that are pretty great in my book. Besides the phone at certain point being a little slow , I hardly think that my phone sucks at all. The only people who think this phone sucks are people who havent or dont know how to use the phone to the max of the phones capabilities. The iphone is no where near as good as this phone. You have to pay for everything or risk jailbreaking and bricking your phone. Anyone who thinks this phone is crappy just doesnt know what thier doing or doesnt have enough info on how to make the phone better. As far a windows phone7 your right redd it will be more popular and sell more units than windows mobile 6.5 . But once people see how restrictive the phone is , you see more complaints then you imagined.

SENSE is HTCs overlay on WinMO, the bugs/issues arent worked out of that.. they failed on a few things there too..

and if MS has no say in processors, then i dont think they would try to set minimum requires to operate win phone 7 os then ya know.. especially when no phone runs the specs they require so far.. so thats MS right there saying, "you must atleast have this processor"... they may not pick it, but they sure seem to be able to say, "it must atleast have this in it as a minimum"

Good points, the 3GS does have a good graphics chip, although they waste it with crappy resolution. I don't agree that HTC "destroyed the windows brand" without HTC windows mobile wouldn't be usable IMO, and talk about what HTC is doing for Android...

I do agree with the 528mhz chip on some phones underperforming, but my Diamond was wayy faster than the touch and any older phone (my mytouch underperforms big time though).

I think what we probably agree on is that Apple is going right way by strengthening on what made them successful and microsoft is is going the opposite way by taking out everything we like about WM. At least get a decent UI if you're going to make us stuck with it, that crappy metro tile UI is just horrid.

Yes but the 4G rumors will have a Hummingbird chip which runs circles around snapdragons in gpu.

Without them we would not have had a windows mobile phone to begin with. But at the same time they are responsible for destroying the brand for the average user.

It is not HTC's fault, at the time they were a growing company and did "ANYTHING" to make their end keep. At this moment they are a formidable company. But by doing so they have completely killed windows mobile for the individual...I mean RAM has always been plaguing the WM community, even when not multitasking. Not to mention the lack of drivers and of course carriers bloating it with their crap as well.

M$ has no clue what they are doing at all...their innovation is at 0..everything decent they come up with gets scrapped and in the end they end up copying someone else.
