But again you have to realize once wm 7 rolls, the millions of cabs may be rendered useless and there will have to be new apps developed. so we have to wait and see
No doubt, I wasnt denying that WinMo has TONS of apps, what I was saying is that there is not single source to download them like the "app stores" google and apple has. This is what is really pushing these phones in the market. The idea that any app is just a simple click away FROM THE DEVICE. With WinMo, you have to first find the app you want (more than likely from your PC), then download it, it its zipped more than likely you have to install using activesync, or if your lucky, it will be cabbed, at which point, you have to transfer it to your phone from the PC, then nav to it and run it.
Theres to many steps involved, and winmo apps are scattered to the 4 winds. In order for MS to make WinMo on par with Android and iPhone, it needs to find a way to organize all those apps, give users a nice easy interface on the device and make it SIMPLE to install right from the device.

It goes back to WinMo's roots of firstly being a PDA OS. It was designed to work with a computer. OVer the years, it has evolved into a quasi mobile phone OS, but still retains those roots of the old PDA stuff (IE activesync, and the whole connecting to a PC thing).

Android and iPhone were designed with todays devices in mind. Wireless devices that were never meant to be connected to a pc.
