208.67.220.220 no change on these still going straight to opening for me. :D |
Anyone know what the original DNS server is? This actually seemed to slow down my connection a lot.
|
you just revert to use server assigned addresses ;)

I thought so, but I still notice the big loss of speed =/ . On dslreports.com/mspeed I used to get 500-1000K ... now I get 300-400K.

Nothing. It's a DNS lookup, that is it translates things like www.google.com into it's IP address. That's it! Any loss in speed detected via DSLReports is either due to heavy traffic at the moment, your ISP is capping your speeds (happened to me), or you're just getting poor speeds due to poor ISP service. The only way to "measure" speed with this trick is maybe via latency not bandwidth. Either way, using DSLReports is unnecessary. |
Re: Speed up Your Internet! (Any PPC or Home PC)
Man, this is great, I am in Vancouver, BC, on Rogers and I just tried this, very noticeable speed improvment, thanks much.
George You should see your data connection restart. I like to soft-reset after this, JIK. Enjoy faster browsing! :wav:[/quote] |
