I find these servers working quite well too: * 208.67.222.222 * 208.67.220.220 Those are from opendns.com. NOTE: Changing your DNS Servers to the above on your home Router is also recommended! I did it. |
yeap the opendns dns servers go hard! I even set it up on the desktop and its now even faster than b4 woot woot! Thanks a mill. Mala :D

This is a great find. I notice a difference with page loading/rendering. My speed didn't improve, but I am in a great 1X Sprint area. My speeds are 100k to 120k most of the time. :)

Thanks Mala, make the change on my ppc and I could tell it's running faster. I'll try the setting on my pc later.
Hey BigD, have fun at Vegas. Don't get greedy, just win enough for your next ppc upgrade. :D |
ok so after playing with it all night with dns servers and proxy servers. I have come to the conclusion the best dns server setting is the opendns servers (mala posted a couple posts up.) my ppc on 1x with 1 bar doesn't even take 1/2 sec. connecting it just jumps straight to opening! shavin a decent amount of overall time. mala thanks again :)

Hey guys, this is a great find! It definitely has made a difference in my browsing (I use the Internet on my phone a lot). Since I am relatively new to both the phone and the forum, I wanted to say you guys do a great job here, and that this is one of the sites I have been visiting dailly the last 3 weeks :-)
I am not sure if this is the best spot for the post, but after looking through the forum I hadn't seen much talking about it, and I didn't want to start a new thread.... But what browsers do you guys run on your PPCs? I have tried using Netfont and it kept freezing up on me. I have read some not so good things about the Webby 2.6, and the Firefox Mobility was pretty slow for me. Right now I am trying out Opera 8.6 for 30 days and so far it seems to be working well, besides sometimes not opening up initially. Do you guys just stick with the IE that came with the phone? I have heard mixed things about the hack that makes it look like IE6. Basically I am just curious what the "Pros" are using :-) Thanks guys! |
should have posted a new thread but its cool. 8) I personally stick with pie with pie+ v2.2 add-on it was released on the 18th of this month and I will be doing a write up on it shortly. its got nice features and allows tabbed browsing.

Yeah, I figured I should have, but I thought I would try to sneak it into one of the newer threads :-)
I will take a look around Google and try downloading that one. Thanks for the help! |
