Re: Capacitive Screen vs Resistive Screen
Agree thanks in order. Did a bit of research on this also very recently. Resistive and Capacitive are becoming buzz words very quickly recently. Was trying to find out if my Garmin 780 was R or C... never was very clear anywhere. The new Hero is C, will need to play with one someday to feel the difference...

Re: Capacitive Screen vs Resistive Screen
Definitely a good job compiling the info into one post and comparing the two. Both technologies are still advancing, and I'm undecided as to which I like better. Between the 2.8 inch QVGA on my Vogue and any of the current capacitive screens available the capacitive offers a better picture by far, but the newer 3.5 and larger WVGA resistive screens are supposed to look pretty amazing, and I havent seen them in person yet. If the new resistive screens look as good as everyone says they do then the only real benefit the capacitive screens offer is multi touch. I know they're working on multi touch, but I havent heard any reliable rumors as to when it may be available in production handsets.

Re: Capacitive Screen vs Resistive Screen
Nice write up regarding the differences.
I thought I saw a previous comparison around here awhile ago. No screen separation with Capacitive, which lends itself to that rainbow or water on oil effect which eventually leads to complete screen failure on Resistive.

Very very nice!
Concise and clearly written.. I've been looking for a good write up on this very subject for a long time now. Thanks again.. |

Re: Capacitive Screen vs Resistive Screen
Thanks. I did a search when researching the subject and found a few threads, but they were more along the lines of opinions (which would you rather have threads). I decided to try and write something a little more informative so folks understand why a capacitive screen is an improvement over resistive, and what situations resistive may still be the king.
