I worked for Sprint as a Store Rep for about a year. If I understand correctly you're saying that you are wanting to get the same phone replaced through insurance... when a replacement is ordered for you it comes from Sprints warehouse... if said phone model is not in stock or no longer available then you will receive the next comparable model.
As far as Customer Service... there was a call center in Dallas(i think) that had been down for quite sometime due to a gas or pipeline explosion nearby(that's what I was told) at any rate .... it's back up now which results in fewer calls being transferred to the CS based in the Philippines.
