Re: Alltel is Limited???

Alltel has a nice setup for a lot of people, the problem with buying out of terr is that when something goes wrong fixing it is a huge pain.

Re: Alltel is Limited???

I have been on 1x for about 2weeks now. Don't know what happened, but my PRL is 30033. I have tried 30029 30031 & 30033 and still on EVDO. Anyone else having this problem?

Ok I am a nuckle head.. I read my post from a few months past and went to http://www.the-answerman.com/sidlist/prl/index.asp and downloaded the new 40038 PRL and I am back on EVDO. Hope this helps anyone else as well.

Re: Alltel is Limited???

The 400XX PRLs are for Blackberry devices and data cards. Normal service should be on the 300XX PRLs for Alltel EVDO enabled phones. Using a 400XX PRL can cause data issues. Notice that I didn't say WILL, only that it CAN. Obviously it's working for you, but I'm going to guess that you're not on a stock ROM, or on the correct band if you're having issues. Also, the newest 400XX PRL is 40049, not 38, and that was updated almost a month ago. The newest 300XX PRL is 30040.

Not that it matters much now, but hey. Verizon is starting to push VZW PRLs out now, so shortly, this will be a non issue.
