Alternative Windows Mobile Native SMS App?

Ive searched evvvvery where for hours and days on in, but i cant seem to find a single app for windows mobile that can be concidered a suitable replacment for the native built in Windows Mobile SMS application.

Now I know that there are plenty of apps that modifey the already built in files, Im well aquainted with thees as I myself have already made a few apps based off the native app.

But nothing that stands alone and functions as its own independant application but still sends and recieves messages like the standard app.

My search is rooted in the desire to make a better messaging app, but I need something to start from.
My brother is an Andriod user and the market is FILLED is alternative SMS apps that dont even touch the native droid sms app in his phone, but is entierly seperate. Such as ChompSMS..

So... why isnt there a single Windows Mobile alternative???

if anyone has any leads, please let me hear it.

im not sure if this is what you're looking for, but heres a few

SMS-Chat. Windows Mobile SMS Messenger
(vito sms, organizes into threads, idk if its entirely what you're looking for)

i believe this one can help you better

thanks for answering.
as far as i know, vito only edits the native app to make it run better.
and it was made for 5.0-6.1 from what little ive read over it.

I havnt looked into the other one yet tho.
I will as soon as I have some free time.

ya Im still scouting but it seems that the only answers people have are vito sms.

But it doesnt work for what I need cause its for windows 5...
and more importantly its not free.
so no good :\

Is there something wrong with the default WM messaging app ? Works well enough for me although I'm not a heavy texter.

Oh no theres nothing wrong with it at all.

I made a stock skin to make it look like an iphone instead of the borring old look it has.

But skining and editing it is extreamilly limited in what I can change or add to it..

So I was looking for an alternative one to start from so I could make a better skin is all
