activesync has encountered an error.

I keep getting the 'Exchange Activesync has encountered an error...please contact your Exchange Administrator.' All solutions I can find have to do with exchange servers and such, but i'm not even using an exchange server.

I tried reinstalling outlook, reinstalling windows mobile device center (win7 x64), reinstalling/new ROMs, nothing works. This error pops up, it won't sync, eventually my phone says 'there has been a change on the server that requires resync', it deletes everything, then can't resync again.

Is it just me or is activesync one of the worst pieces of software ever written?

Re: activesync has encountered an error.

I've never had this problem and I did a search for it on this site and google: this is what I found. Hope it helps.

Yes, been there, read that, it's all about Exchange and server things, which I do not use.

I eventually figured out that the problem was the TP2 cleanup cab. This cab also happened to break my SMS.

But thanks.

Re: activesync has encountered an error.

I only used the cleanup cab once and went back to using MemMaker.

Re: activesync has encountered an error.

Anybody have any other solutions for this. I reset my phone and started over but no luck, I am still getting this error. Let me give the full picture of my issue:
I do not have an exchange server at home but I do at work. The phone (HP Glisten) syncs fine at work but when I get home it gives me this error. I don't sync emails at all and I only sync Calendar, Contacts, Notes & Tasks on both machines. I did a test on my home PC and added a new calendar event. It did sync but it will never complete the syncing. It just starts with these errors.
