Re: WM to Android ?
What exactly was the problem that you had with the text file?
2 things come to mind: 1) Did you have an office suite installed? some devices have one preinstalled others do not (if not download one from the market) 2) You sure it was a .txt and not a .eml attachment? Android is based on Linux, you can even open up a terminal and do terminal commands...There is a lot of customization..you just have to get into the "Linux" mindset and not the "Windows" mindset..aka some things are different to accomplish different tasks. ATM there is almost 0 customizations on WP7 as its a locked down platform like the iphone..it may change in the future..but thats what it is today.

Re: WM to Android ?
I was trying to download a .rtf, but that was merely an example.
I think I need to start modding... And quit whining I think that I'm frustrated that everything that I was looking to gain in WM6.5, this phone has - such as flash, capacitative touch, etc. With some of the most basic features gone. I have root, I've been reading forums and downloading apps. (Including quickoffice and office suite pro) I know there is truth to the post above, maybe cm7 will cheer me up. Most of the features don't even require rooting, just an app download in the market... IF you have any problems just holler and I'm sure me and other members will have a solution...once you get more used to the platform you'll be able to navigate it like the back of your hand.. |

Re: WM to Android ?
Is there a Windows Office suite for Android?
Can an Android phone sync with Windows outlook 2007 or 10 on my PC? I have Win 7 64 Home Premium on my home machine. Thanks

If you think the Android is like an iPhone, wait until you test the Windows iPhone. Locked down, forced to use Zune, almost zero custom options (including ringtones, backgrounds, sounds, etc...), etc..., etc... |

Re: WM to Android ?
I use "ThinkFree Office" that came preinstalled with my Epic. I am able to open and use my word and excel files, I haven't tried powerpoint but chances are, it will work!

I have Windows 7 64 Professional at work and have had zero problems transfering files over from my PC to my Epic via the Micro USB cable. Couldn't do this on Windows iPhone 7 to save my life! |
