yes I could go to google.com/m?hl=en linked at the bottom of the page but I am from the US and English is my language not spanish.

now opera doesnt do this only with the default browser on the Evo
Opera Mini is using a proxy server so that shouldn't factor into this situation at all. Google uses IP Geo tracking to base which google site you get.

So not HTC's fault. If you're on wifi blame your isp, if you're on 3g when it happens then your IP is marked incorrectly.

Re: Evo problem - sprint or android?

It's Spanish for me too and it also clearly shows the city I am in in Maryland under the search box. Even went back into language settings and hit English and tried again and it is still in Spanish.

Re: Evo problem - sprint or android?

Sometimes it defaults to spanish on mine too, but it did that on my hero & diamond as well. It's no big deal, just click on english & it fixes it.

there was suppose to be a poll but for some reason PPC decided to go tits up

so if you can answer yes or no that'd be great.

I am going to a sprint store to check it also.
When you go to Googles home page, just hit the settings link on the page and change the language to English. Don't forget to hit save!

Re: Evo problem - sprint or android?

switching to wifi , google.com is correct. than after disabling it and going back to 3g it stayed correct. and rebooting the phone it stayed the same.

now to find out what's causing it.

I wonder if they are slowly taking over Sprint and google

We do; they were on the same topic
