Luckily, HTC has added full support for exchange, so as long as you have a Sense build, you'll be able to sync your work email even if pin security is required.

This was a big concern for me too, but now I can rest easy. Btw, the Sense exchange email widget and app is pretty clean. All of us used to Sense on WinMo will recognize the slider at the bottom. It works well.

Also, this is for those of us that will flash to Froyo ROMs as soon as they start popping up. The fact that Sense will most likely not be available from the start is not a concern as stock Froyo has full exchange support built in, so we'll still be covered.
well thats good news. I know when using the 2.1 emulator i wasn't very impressed. maybe the "sense build" will be good enough so that i won't have to buy moxier or touchdown.

Yes you can sync Outlook on your desktop and on Android with an exchange acct. mail2web doesnt allow desktop outlook sync on their free plan but they do offer that functionalit for a price. if anyone needs a reliable affordable full exchange 2007 provider thn check out Sherweb.

Re: EVO 4G and Exchange

I'm not sure how different the EVO and Incredible are but my friend who has the Incredible hasn't been able to use tasks on the phone with an Exchange server. He said all he had was Mail, Contacts and Calender which all work great. Lack of Tasks wouldn't be a deal breaker but I do think it's a great way to keep meeting notes that required me to follow through on without needing to carry a pen and paper.

So while it's not full support of all Exchange objects (my other WM6.x have it built in) it's good enough for my taste...

Re: EVO 4G and Exchange

NOOB Question:

sorry about the NOOB question you guys but I'm gonna be a brand new Android user so I also have some concern. plus I have no idea what exchange is I just know it has something to do with work email.

here is my question... will my evo sync hotmail as it arrives? or will I have to setup a download interval of every 3 or 5 mins? I would really like to keep my free hotmail account and get my email immediately instead of every 5 mins.

After you see what having push mail does to your battery I bet youll reconsider that.
