1GHZ
3.7 AMOLED multitouch
Full Sense UI
Android 2.1 OS
8MP dual LED flash camera
720p video recording? (need confirmation on this one)
Live Wallpapers!? :P
Style of the device
Optical trackball!! (no ball like Nexus One)

Although I've never used Android besides on my TP2, I hope i'm making the right choice with converting over to another OS. I like Windows Mobile but if it were without Manila 2.5, I think I would throw my TP2 at a window, the UI for WinMo is terrible and app support is mediocre unless you do alot of searching for what you need.

One thing I haven't found that I use alot on my TP2 is wifi sharing, i use this alot in the car and at home, but its not a required feature.

I just really really hope the switch is worth it
the trackball is better imo plus it has different colors for different notifications. So if i see my trackball blue i know thats a text for example.

Re: HTC Incredible, how many switching?

I'm technically not eligible to upgrade from my TP2 until 5/2011 - what kind of penalty will I face if I want to move to the DI? Will I have to purchase the phone at the full, unsubsidized price (my TP2 was purchased at the subsidized rate)?

Re: HTC Incredible, how many switching?

Does Verizon do a 1 year upgrade? If you waited until May you might be able to get a little off the phone but it won't be as cheap as a 2 year upgrade. Like with Sprint you can get $75 off the phone after 1 year.

I believe it's an 18-month cycle. I may just purchase this phone outright.

Android has Wi-Fi sharing, you just have to root your phone.

Verizon does allow for upgrades to a new device annually, but you have to renew your contract for another 2 years, and you just pay the 2 year price. Their new every two program is different in the way that you get the 2 year discounted price but you also get another $50 off.

You also pay a $20 early upgrade fee.

Re: HTC Incredible, how many switching?

I'm switching from Sprint to Verizon because coverage has become VERY important to me. The Incredible makes it easier to pay a higer price for an individual plan (450 voice + text, unlimited data, voice mail, and total equipment insurance)

Re: HTC Incredible, how many switching?

I have been looking high and not so low and this looks like the best place to post. I am looking to upgrade issue that I have is are there any new phones coming out this summer that I should wait for? I am not sick of my Tp2 but it seams that I am always a half a gen off on my cell and I don't wish to upgrade and be pissed in 4 months.

if that is the case then you would want to buy the incredible NOW. This time next year new devices will be out or on the horizon for sure. The incredible will not be overshadowed this year and if so, definitely not by much. This time next year something will come out that will definitely put that phone to rest. The longer you wait to buy, the more time you're giving technology to catch up.
