Re: Windows Mobile ---> Android: Who has made the switch?

I figure Google is going to drive my car, they might as well make my phone calls for me. Eligible for VZW upgrade...Droid X or Incredible? I love my TP2 and am an HTC fan but Droid X is f***ing huge and looks to be a bit better for same price.

I switched from a tp2 to the evo and love it. Things that don't work on wm6.5 work great on the evo. There is just so much more you can do on android. I just miss pocket quicken too.

I had a touch pro but I went though like four or five of them and it never worked right... or well... sprint have me a free blackberry tour and I used that for a while... I'm not loyal to any smartphone manufacturer because they all have their issues.... i was going to get the hero but didn't like how laggy it was in the store while txting so I was like eh.... waited a while and heard of the evo and got it when it came out. So far its been mostly perfect for me. Some apps have bugs, like the nhl live app... half the time the games are hardly watchable, but that's a problem with the developer not the phone I'm thinking cause every other streaming video works fine. Anyways windows mobile is a waste of time. I spent more time flashing than using the phone.
I flashed this once to root it for tethering and its been great.

Endless possibilities? or problems? Or are we confusing 'possibilities' for 'necessary tweaks to run correctly'?

I don't miss 6.5 one bit. I'm running my Epic stock, no root, and I couldn't be happier. Like the poster above mentioned, I now use my phone more than I flash it!

Re: Windows Mobile ---> Android: Who has made the switch?

Moto Q-->Titan-->Imagio-->Fascinate.

So far the Fascinate is great for me. I was a WM fanboy but finally decided to test drive the Fascinate after one of my pals got one. I was just going to test drive it for a week or two... today is day 30, there is no turning back! Not that I really miss the Imagio much. There are a couple things like the ease of wireless tether with WinMobileWiFi and I do miss the SPB MObile Shell, but the Fascinate does a whole slew of other things better and makes up for what I miss. I wish I have flash (Froyo) but it will come in a few months. I could root for wireless tether if I really wanted it.

The Android OS was confusing to me for a few days but I quickly got past that and now I'm up and running. I got my son the Droid 2 and he loves it as well. Next is the wife, she is up for an upgrade in Feb. and she will likely be the first in the family on a 4G Android. My new every 1 is up for renew in June, so I'll go 4G Android then.

Re: Windows Mobile ---> Android: Who has made the switch?

Thought I'd chime in here. I just replaced my Touch Pro2 with Energy ROM for an EVO. I was VERY hesitant to do so. I am really liking certain things about Android and miss a lot about Windows Mobile. I think the bigger questions for me will be whether my phone a year or two from now will still be Android or if I will move back to Windows Phone 7.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; MSM Build/MASTER) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

Windows Phone 7 will be different than what winmo used to be, so that may take some getting used to again.
