CFay 6.5 Rom! CEOS 5.2.21324 ! Windows Mobile 6.5! 1.54 FINAL Uploaded with Fixes.

I was wondering if one of the veterans around here would care to start a sub=thread entitled something like: "Making 6.5 Work...better" where we address all of the little things that will help us get our 6.5 Treo Pros up to the level of functioning that we need. For instance so far I noticed that

1.) I can't find a way to enable the touch screen during a call. It might be there...I could always find it in 6.1 but not in 6.5 yet.

2) I can't figure out how to delete email accounts in 6.5. Again it might be there but I don't see it. In 6.1 it was easy.

3) Internet sharing...same deal I think I saw the senable hack go in during the initial boot but...I don't get the option to connect...even after I reconnected the data connection.

I cannot sync using Activesync or WMDC. Have tried XP Pro and Windows 7. Tried two different pc's in two different locations.

I am not getting the popup box to install setup when its plugged in, I cannot uncheck "advanced network functionality".

Not sure what to do now. Had no issues on the other build of 6.5

Plug in, go through the Palm PC Setup (should launch automatically). If it's like my W7 computer, nothing happens. Just hit "cancel" and it will warn you that it hasn't finished setting up, blah blah.

The next screen then says it is switching to "Sync Mode" now. I think I then soft-reset the phone and rebooted the computer and it connected back to WMDC.

And you're right--the PC Sync icon is missing, so you can't change it manually. But if you walk through the steps above it should work.

Edit: this rom feels a lot sharper than the 6.5.1 rom just my observations

Does iCaller work with this rom? I tried running it and it said it was unable to load the theme.... so I am guessing not. Can anyone point me to larger Caller ID solutions or are there aren't any for 6.5 as of yet?

Okay here are two pics with realvga installed. I can't remember what page had the cut off text (maybe it was a one time thing). Second picture has small text ok button on the top right hand corner. Other than that realvga is working fine and haven't ran into any issues with it. I will go back to using the 6.1 rom.

First off, great work Cfay!

This question is for you, or anyone else that might know how to fix the only three real bugs that we've encountered on this rom.

1. The spinning dots... they come up in email and file explorer and will not go away. It doesn't appear that there is any reason for them to be going. I'd be cool if there's a way to disable them all together.

2. When you get a call from an unknown number, it asks if you'd like to add it to contacts. But when you try, nothing happens.

3. It's doing the good old "Treo Pro not ringing". Just shows a missed call after the fact, but never rings. Not sure if the standard fix for this has already been applied to this rom. Hopefully Cfay will get back to me on that one.

Anyone know of a way of correcting these?

I am still playing around with this version.

One thing I noticed is during a call, you cant activate the speaker phone because the screen is locked. I know how to change it in 6.1 but the option isnt there. I looked around in the phone setting to try and find an option to change.

Anyone got an idea?

I hope someone knows, because I found that out last night too. I was looking for the screen lock option because I always turned it off for my wife, and it's just not there. Kinda have to have that one, so hopefully there's a fix for it before she realizes she can't use the screen in call.
