using a mort script or sashimi, or UC, or a similar tool, personally I don't set up much after flashing just a few programs so I just install the 20ish cabs by hand.

Flash went great, running like a top...but the data connection won't turn on. keeps going to the setup screen. Anyone have this problem? What to fix? I'm with USCC

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

im guessing you need to run USC carrier provisioning, but that has to do with the specific rom rather than actually flashing.

Why is the the relocker not part of your instructions? Here is the relocker from the HSPL thread. http://hpcmonex.net/htc/rhodw/Rhodiu...locker_063.zip I just ran the exe and copied the Signed.....nbh file to my SD card and ran it like a new ROM. I had to reflash the stock rom again. But the SPL is locked again.

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

since the unlock doesn't work from the SD and you may or may not have to pay to re-unlock I left the relocking out of the mix. I'm glad it worked for you though!

as far as the stock rom its in the same sticky you found this thread at. the one labeled stock. as far as sim unlocked i think thats permanent. you can check out cmonex's site for that since this is a bit beyond the scope of this thread.

yes, even more, you can store different roms and flash between them at will and they flash faster via the sd card so you can test a rom and flash back to your favorite one back and forth.

how can u have more than one rom in the root of sd if i may ask? do u rename each one of them for example RHODIMH.nbh, RHODIMH1.nbh, RHODIMH2.nbh, etc..

yes, but I rename them something more meaningfull like stock.nbh, mightylove.nbh mightywar.nbh, nrg.nbh etc. and if I am using alot at one given time I put them in folders.

can you pm me with a more specific error message and what you did to get there? every detail no matter how mundane could matter.

Did the soft reset but the phone gets stuck at the Touch Pro 2 screen. Is that supposed to happen or am I s.o.l?

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

I just formatted a SD card to FAT32 but when I open say Malatesta's ROM, there are a bunch of other files, ie. pagepool changer, etc in addition to the RUU_signed.nbh file. Are those not needed for the ROM when flashing from SD card?

Dude... you did it backwards.... (sorry, had to say it...). any luck getting it working again, just curious as I'm about to undertake flashing this way. If you did, how did you get it off that screen, HR, SR, etc?

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

For right now, I'm taking a breather. I tried about 3 different ROMS last night. Energy ROM went through and I got the update success msg, but it was stuck on that screen. When I press soft reset the damn thing goes back to the TP2 screen and is stuck on there. I don't know what else to do. I even got an sd card that I had from before, reformatted it to FAT32, I put just the RUU and the .nbh file and I get the same thing.

Are you moving two files or just the RUU_signed.nbh?

jawe347 01-07-2010 01:14 PM

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

just those two files, the RUU file and the .nbh file. I extracted the ROM to the SD card, so both files end up being on there.

I've never flashed from sd, although I was just setting up an older sd card this morning for it, but from what I read, you only move the .nbh file, typically named RUU_signed.nbh into the root of the sd, and rename it RHODIMG.nbh. I didn't understand it to be two files, only that one.

"Step 2: extract the .nbh file out of said rom package (will usually be named RUU_SIGNED.nbh if the rom is packed in an exe use pocket rar to extract from your phone or 7zip/winrar from your pc)
Step 3: rename the .nbh file to RHODIMG.nbh"

hmmmm, hopefully someone a bit wiser can chime in and lend you a hand and clarify for me.... I was wondering about the other files packaged in the ROM myself, which is why I posted earlier about that. Does the entire package need to be in folder on the card or only the .nbh file needs to be on the card.

jawe347 01-07-2010 01:42 PM

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

cool, I'm re-flashing it now with just the .nbh file on the sd card. The update was complete, update success. I soft reset it and bam, TP2 screen and nothing else.

fishingmedic 01-07-2010 01:59 PM

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

WTF... I just checked with someone here who knows his shit and does this all the time and he confirmed, you only need the .nbh file on the root, nothing else, and it needs to be named RHODIMG.nbh. Hopefully someone who knows what else you can try will chime in, sorry couldn't be of more assistance bro!

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

Lawd Thank You Jesus!!! I tried EnergyROM earlier and that didn't work, just tried MightyROM and it went to the TP2 Screen, I let it sit for a bit and now it is going to the Today Screen Upload and MightyROM upload. Gracias muchacho for pointing that out to me. I can breath a sigh of relief now.

No prob bro, I was confirming info w/ Darren.Wlsn1 for you and me, so if you see him out there, hit his thanks a bunch... he's a blessing to have around!

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

question though... do I have to keep that SD card I used to flash the ROM in the phone. Will the phone look for that .nbh file when it resets or can I just use my regular sd card?

fishingmedic 01-07-2010 02:13 PM

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

I believe you can use your regular SD card. I have always flashed from the computer and once I flash the ROM to the phone, I disconnect the computer, right? Once the file is flashed to the phone, it's there, until of course you flash again to another one.

Skraight, man once again big thanks, and thank Darren.Wlsn1 too. I got the biggest grin from ear to ear right now. Let the flashing begin!!

NP bro, just make sure to hit thanks for Darren and anyone else who helps you out, and have fun flashing, it gets freaking addictive...

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

sorry I didn't respond to the problems, my e-mail on reply apparently isn't working... after flashing you do not need to keep the sd card in, the flash actually is applied to the phones on board rom overwriting were the stock rom used to reside.

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

I am having problems flashing my phone from the SD card as well. I have tried using the energy ROM and the Mr. X ROM. I download the files directly from this site to my SD card in the root directory. Then extracted the .nbh file. Renamed it RHODIMG.nbh using Total Commander. Powered down the phone and restarted it holding down the volume down and pressing the power button on the end key. I have a Verizon version. The tri-colored screen came up & for a second it said no image found. then went back to the tri-colored screen again and in the white banding it said serial. I am using a 1 gig Sandisk card. I formatted it using Storage Tools to a FAT 32 with 512 bytes per sector. I can't think of anything else to do.

I bet it is RHODIMG.nbh.nbh

For the file name put RHODIMG only.

I tried that as well. Just downloaded Juicy47's ROM and downloaded it directly to the phone. Renamed the file to just RHODIMG and it done the same thing.

make sure you name it RHODIMG.nbh when I was doing this at first I notoriously kept naming it ROHDIMG.nbh by mistake.

Re: HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

just tried this out and i like it..

my hard drive recently took a dive and i was stuck with a bad rom.. lots of problems.. i had to wait to flash, i hated it!!

so i figure i try this out so if this ever happens again i have something i know works and i can flash out..

i also flash at night and most of the time i go to sleep, so if i have a problem with the new rom i can always flash on the go..

thanks again

this wont do anything if i flash from a pc and i still have the file in my sd card right?
